As mentioned on the topic title, we've heard several rumors regarding about DAI prior to its release. Of all the things you've heard, which one/s you wished came true?
I'll start with Varric being possessed if he keeps the red lyrium shard.

Sounded like it had better potential for origins, when it was human only. Stuff like Crestwood sounded interesting too, of course. I don't know much else.

Leading this world to its bitter end.
Saving the world from itself. Turns out the plot was just another battle against an ancient evil, politics were swept to the corner.
Taking part in the Templar vs. Mage war before the conference.

Turns out you could lead the world to it's bitter end if you had bad Winter Palace skills. ![]()

Bioware:
It is clear that DAI was meant to be played as a human. Playing as an Elf, Dwarf, or Qunari didnt seem to have any uniqueness to them. I remember playing as a Dalish Elf and having Morrigan, a human explain to my elf character what certain items said in elven at the Temple of Mythal. I knew then that this game was designed to be played as a human.
Indeed, not only that but if you do play human, there are all sorts of casual references (not just in your convo choices but the ambient dialog itself) that refers to you noble origin. When you play a non-human, these were stripped out but not replaced and it's clear they haven't been replaced because almost all non-human Qwizzys play the nearly the same in turns of ambient dialog and choices.
"PC would have its own interface and controls suited to the PC"

I think players have to intentionally fail at the Winter Palace. It's almost impossible to fail without trying.
