Why wouldn't it have AI's or VI's?

Installing Shodan.exe...

VI is simply an advanced piece of software. Why wouldn't we have those?

The "Siri" on your IPhone is a VI.

As for AI, I wouldn't mind seeing them. The problems I had with ME3, had nothing to do with the existance of AI.

It will be due to a scorched earth approach to avoid the return of AI's in any and every form, I would go as far as to assume that AI's will be 1000% illegal and punishable by death and not just the convicted party but also their entire family, their friends, and their known associates.

Sounds like the plot to a "Mass Effect: Inquisition".

Would play.

That's warhammer 40K logic. Interesting, but no.

Why wouldn't they send VI's, and shackled AI's with them? VI's are used in almost all military ships, and countless other things in ME by all the races. It wouldn't be logical not pack any for the ride. Not to mention some of the new races won't be primitive, it is ME after all. Can agree on the reapers tho, won't miss them.

Yea... there's more than likely going to be an android. Book it.

While I do hope ME:A is without Reapers because I like everyone would like to move on, I wouldn't want them to excise AI characters all together. I feel that's too in line with the sci-fi clichee of artificial intelligence being inherently hostile towards organic life and to be avoided at all cost, which ultimately only exists in fiction to capitalize off of a fear of progress and new technology.

I feel that would be counter-intuitive to what I think the series was trying to say on the subject of AI, which is that we should be cautious and careful in our progress, but that ultimately we shouldn't fear progress itself, and we shouldn't react to it in a knee-jerk way.

I don't think anyone actively wants the Reapers to come back. I think a few people are sure they will, but I don't think any of them are happy about it. More resigned to it.

I'm fine without those (more than fine), but I can expect Bioware to go for a similar story again.. about ancient evil or ancient mistakes. They seemingly can't get away from it. I almost think they have a whiteboard or go to team conferences that talk about this.

I like to see Harbinger again, but I know that won't happen unless I play ME2 again.

I expect ME:A to have robust AI routines to handle the Fire Team. Halo 5 seems to have one.

Reapers and Geth? Yes, forget them.

About the VI. I don't mind the main protagonist carrying a mobile Cortana like for advice or as a handy information resource.

Because their home galaxy is burned to ashes by crazy AI? Because AI has unpredictable motivations and goals? Pff, society of future is more open minded than that. Besides Starbrat said that AI is always created and he cannot lie.

I'd only like that if they brought in the ME equivalent of Mentats. :P

In the interest of varied enemy types (a vital gameplay aspect, although few people around here apparently play games for gameplay) there will most definitely by some synthetic/robotic enemies. Whether they are VI's or AI's remains to be seen. But it is almost certain that we will have to fight some kind of human-shaped robotic enemies.

I very much want there to be AI's/VI's, but more of just background stuff and not plot-heavy things in and of themselves, unless it's something like CASE/TARS. I love those things. I want something like a Jarvis, that doesn't really concern itself with human behavior and trying to be something else, but is just a cool interactive machine that adds some color to our ship.

Except Jarvis becomes Vision in the movies... and is concerned.

Yeah with some some kind of techno magic space wand. Jarvis doesn't become that on its own.
