I keep getting a requisition for Hinterlands Puzzle Box. You don't even come across Obsidian until Crestwood!! Sure there is some in Redcliffe if you have the perks. So you can't fill it until Crestwood. Good planning. So you are blocked from doing any other req until after Skyhold. None in Fallow Mire either. I wouldn't complain if you could cancel the quest but you can't.

The obsidian in the Hinterlands is found by dragon.  You just have to kill the dragon to be able to get it...

The Requisition Officer secretly hates you. The Inquisitor gets to run off and have adventures, but she gets stuck st camp tending to your mail.

No problem...  What I learned from the requisition officer is to always save before speaking to them.  If I didn't like the items I needed to find, I could reload and try for a different one.

What I learned from the requisition officer is to always ignore the requisition officer.

Don't need to kill the dragon to get Obsidian. Just run like hell until she stops spitting fire at you and lands in the back section. Then run around the front section and collect what you need.

And if you so happen to have B.E. installed you should be able to buy it there.

From my observation all the requisition officers in a given area have a series or set that they either cycle through or are randomly assigned. So while you might think that it doesn't make sense for the game to assign you a requisition you have no hope of filling until you are a bit higher level (certainly not level three when you first arrive), it wasn't a purposeful assignment.

Or send in a rogue to collect it. While the rest of the team gets toasted, the rogue can quietly gather obsidian.

Takes 2 points to get permastealth on a dagger rogue, 3 to get permastealth on an archer (if you've got the Trespasser ability upgrades). Even if Take it Slow is active, most people end Wrath of Heaven at level 2, which means everyone has at least 3 ability points.

I've been running around with a Hinterlands requisition that requires Fereldan locks but the guys who dropped those have been long dead and aren't coming back. I never even got those things when I killed the guys who usually drop them.   This latest game has been completely "lockless".

Same thing happened to me. I got the requisition after I'd killed off all the guys that drop them and was stuck with it for the rest of the game. Played hell with my OCD having one quest left over that I could not resolve.

Some of the quests and requisitions assigned in the Hinterlands require the party to venture elsewhere to complete them. The Hinterlands Puzzle Box can be completed in the Hinterlands if you tackle the area the dragon is in or Crestwood (where the party must go after reaching Skyhold to find the warden).

The requisitions are picked from a revolving list for that area. Some sidequests require going elsewhere.

For example Felandaris is not found in the Hinterlands but is needed for the sidequest Letter to a Lover. Felandaris is found in Emprise du Lion. So the party has to leave the Hinterlands to get the herb necessary to complete the quest. The quest cannot be completed until Emprise du Lion is unlocked.

Some requisitions cannot be completed because the party has wiped out the enemies that dropped the necessary items. One requisition can be completed but will remain in the journal.
