So, despite the fact that the game has been out long enough for all the DLC to be released, I haven't actually completed the game, a problem that I am currently rectifying. I have been looking at end-game gear for my Qunari Knight-Enchanter, and it looks like the best Light Armor is going to be the Superior Battlemage Armor. The Schematic is available in the Hissing Wastes, so getting it isn't a problem. However, I want to slot in a Sigil of the Great Bear to increase my Mana. The thing is, I haven't been doing any crafting. Not because it's OP, but because none of the schematics I generally get at this point in the game (about ready for Champions of the Just or whatever the Mage quest is named) have the stats I want. If I can't get the stats I want anyway, then I might as well stick with found gear. My concern is that the Superior Battlemage Armor might not have a Sigil slot. Most of the armor I've been finding has one, but I don't know if that's going to remain true. My question, then, is whether all armor has Sigil slots, and if not, does Superior Battlemage Armor get a slot?

Yes it does. You can also remove the sigil and insert it into other armors if you didn't know.

My way of looking at it is that Descent armors are ugly, so it's a good thing they don't have Sigil slots, because I wouldn't want to be caught dead in them. ;)

I didn't know that. Now I do. Thanks!

Sigil are any of them any good? The negatives seem pretty high.

great bear and bronto are the only ones i have used for mages/rogues and tanks respectively. great bear is awesome because it raises your mana/stamina pool and both mages and rogues have easy ways of getting it back through abilities and passives. bronto doubles your guard while basically making you unable to have any barrier, which tanks don't really need.

Sigil of the Great Bear (+100% max mana/stamina -50% mana stamina regeneration) doesn't actually lower your per-unit regen rate.

This is because "regeneration" is actually percentage per time, rather than unit per time. The reduction in percentage-per-time is fully balanced out by the larger mana pool. In other words regenerating 5% of 200 (with the sigil) is the same speed as regenerating than 10% of 100 (without the sigil). So Sigil of the Great Bear has no negatives.
