Hi! all

 

i know topics along same title have been asked before too but heres what im wondering: according to what replies i read if its a race specific armor (elf only, human only, etc..) so i tried making  the griffon plate (warrior only...not race restricted or such) but it didnt hsave upgrade slots (except sigil) but when i tried crafting superior vanguard mail (warrior only...again, not race restricted or such..) but it had upgrade slots other than sigil!!!...what gives!?...they r both only warrior restricted and have no elf only or human only or such restrictions and they r both blue (rare) schemetics too...

Some schematics have upgrade slots and some don't.  The specialty schematics (Griffon, Dalish, Orlesian, LoD, etc) tend not to have upgrade slots.  To make up for that, the specialty schematics allow more materials to be put into the support slots that do exist.  The general schematics (Battlemage robe/mail, Battlemaster Armor, etc) do (generally) allow for upgrade slots.

 

It depends on the schematic you are using.

The only armor schematics that have upgrades are:

 

Battlemaster, Vanguard, Defender (for heavy)

 

Prowler, Hunter, Scout (medium)

 

Battlemage, Enchanter, Apprentice (for light)

 

You can tell the above from the rest, because the above sets are all classified into mail, armor, and coat, and have different appearances for different companions.

Quibble.  You will also see "sturdy" versions of the above named armor schematics.  They also permit upgrade slots.
