Being on the bottom is no excuse for not finding ways to help. If a teammate is doing most of the heavy work, it gives you a chance to get farther into the game--finding devices to activate, hanging on to your teammate, letting her know you have her back--that sort of thing. In a deep infiltration scenario, all hands need to be working toward successful completion. There will be moments where things get hard, and it may require teammates to move faster and get a little rough, but you don't have to be on top to get those things done. You can be big from the bottom, and you can push a teammate back up if she's letting down. Keep things moving until you can finally extract.

Yea, I think it works best this way when not speed-running.

Yeah, that isn't always the case. AI knows where you are if you're cloaked or not. Judgement call really. If you managed to skip away without anything close then lone wolfing it can be a breeze. If teammates are on a murder spree elsewhere on the map there's a good chance some mook is going to spawn with a bead drawn right on your head.

I don't mind decoys teammates near me as long as they are pulling the aggro and making life miserable for the advancing force.

This is so true JGDD - Had exactly this scenario 3 weeks ago, some 80 k CP banner (non bsn'er) , was actively "barfing;)" at teammates to GTFO & far away from him & his hacking objectives. He Never revived teammates, took icecream from orphans, just a nasty self centered personality that should only be soloing.

Some inner atomic clock with a very short half-life in me were playing with the alternative of opening my mic or to funnel all attacks in his direction. I decided to live with my surprise packet of chocolates as Forest Gump calls it.

In retrospect I belief team behavior is very situational depending on the spawn locations.

As general pattern, though, its very helpful to avoid "unnecessary" enemy killing during objectives (target switching is not unnecessary). In contrast a kill spree creates a warm glühwein feeling (and extra points), but causes larger spawns out of LOS...so as special subclause 1b - with good spawn knowledge this result in a speedy finalization. The "Unnecessary" clause seems to universally hold true for hacking, devices, targets if there are 2 or more weaker players in the team (they usually have a knack to draw fire to where u don't want it).

For devices- another BSNer suggested a while ago ( and u now again) to be close enough to distract any new enemy but far enough to not be in line of sight / create sync kills. I agree with that- and I would personally add that if u are not able to save a teammate at the device from being sync killed, at any given time, with a missile, from wherever u are, then you are not tactically placed. It is disturbing to see veterans leaving a teammate and running into nirvana to "distract the enemy".

with hacking, in pugs, that cannot control the attack "waves", early missiling leads dirty spawns and enemies attacking from all flanks. A recipe 4 early team wipe. Instead , if the whole team could kite (in unison = same direction and not like cockroaches) full armored enemies away, and return dripwise to the obejctive, it will help a lot ito "team" survivability and steal some critical seconds in the last moments, when in dire straits (timer =15s / 90% done) , THEN one can missile and disperse in all directions .

don't get hung up on the score. its supposed to be a co-op game but the way points are awarded lends itself to experienced people being able to outscore people who have only just started playing the game - and there are a LOT of new people at the moment.

i tend to either Solo a lot or PUG so if i am in a match with people who look as though they are trying and this is my pet hate, DO objectives with everyone else, then i don't care about carrying them. i have an advantage with having played since the first game was released and a max manifest, loads of credits and tons of stuff i never use. (i wish this game allowed you to donate stuff if you want). but if you come into a Silver/Gold game with no manifest, a low level char and no mods and constantly die, this makes it tough for the other people, unless they are decent. therefore if the host kicks you it probably means try a lower level and get more kit and experience. otherwise the game will just frustrate you.

the only issue i have is a crappy/laggy connection (rural location, this is the only drawback) and i get frequent disconnects some nights, so apologies if you have been in one of my games and its lost connection.

Maybe check this guide by Jeremiah12LGeek for further tips and tricks for this kit.

That guide was clearly written by a crazy person who nobody should listen to.

And I've seen that guide from Jeremiah, very nice one :)

You can run it for maximum explosions as Jeremiah12LGeek so beautifully illustrated

You people must be drunk!

I surely am. I played the HSent yesterday so drunk that I can't remember what happened. I only remember I played him.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, the HSent gets nice survivability but I can't score too many points with it.

Maybe one aspect that didn't help in that regard is because I played with Max and his friends, which are a bunch of noobs :P

Just kidding, it was hard to kill people with those guys destroying everything :)

It's much more fun to play MP games with nice people than play PUGs.

At some point even Max turned his mic on, but I couldn't talk to avoid waking up my wife.

Slowly I'm starting to have more BSNers in my list. That helps.

Score does play a role in determining ones "skill" and contribution however it's level of significance is completely subjective.

100% of missile glitchers agree!

Then you clearly haven't played with those who could score 200k+ without milking anything, nuke spawns and do objectives. All if not most of the current top players could do this if they truly wanted.

does doing objectives give individual points?

quite embarrassing to ask this after having played 1800 hours... but now I understand why a dude yelled at me after I rushed with a Drell to all devices before he could get there.
I really thought I was just helping the team, lol.

Yes it does. And it usually helps the team, too.

Mmm.
1) Do u know all so called "top players" - or
2) is your own presence in such lobby with JGDD sufficient to count as all?

Where I am going with this is =
criteria for a top player (before slapping my favourite buddies name on there)

My suggested criteria 4 such "top player"
A) consistently high performance in-game across a high variety of characters, weapons, classes and different (by way of experience) team players, team skill properties (following, leading, coordinating, lead by consistent example, adaptive synergy - realizes when 3 tech classes are already in lobby and play synergistic class also well on the fly ), wide use and mastery of available powers (ie the opposite of a one armed bandit repeating 3 clicks a gazillion amounts of times with a score of 240k) (mb also someone that have played on different platforms, as well?, + maxed manifest and completed all banners)
B ) Continuous Active participation in mp ( x /month over y months)
C) Community service (playing with new player specifically to help them improve some skills (pugging is different category), community participation ie n7 day)
D) Repertoire for postive contribution in bsn forum (ie builds, howto's , demonstration videos, ability to be self critical, adaptable on misperceptions, sharing, consistent viewpoints/ trying new fads but reserved instead of changing allegiance constantly)
E) active as evangelist also outside bsn forum

....
Relative Weight of criteria (x.A, y.B, z.C,....

+ mb other objective stuff I missed?

nobody can score more than 200k in a lobby with 3 other very good players. no matter how good he is.

when I score far more than 200k it always is with teammates who dont kill very fast.

Platinum with 3 device rounds may be possible. But usually all would score around 140k

Pug yelling at you for doing all the objectives too fast.  Now I have read everything.

You get maybe as much as a Marauder kill.  It is nothing substantial.  I rather think he was mad because the faster you do the objectives, the less time he has to scorewhore on the other side of the map.

Geez I'm remembering games with max, reefa back in the days with us having 200+. Games with disciple, dandcd and ferocious panda with the same results. Very rarely did it happen but it has happened in my expereince. My point is that it is possible.

This is a good rule. And as all rules, it has exceptions.

For example if the player in question is playing a DrellGod B)
