Edit: boo Microsoft, boo

So, Backwards compatibility will be available in a bit over two weeks, and even though we don't yet have a confirmed list of games coming in the first wave, it's said to launch with over a hundred titles. If the poll about the most desired games on the Xbox site is anything to go by, we who don't have a 360 anymore might be able to play ME3MP once again (plus, ME1 is already available, so...).

Is anyone else coming back for nostalgia?

I personally can't wait to get my hands back on my trusty old Venom and wreck Cancerberus, tha Rippaz, the Trollectors and the Geth(thef**kouttahere) again.

Is Xbox One Xbox live and Xbox 360 xbox live even the same thing internally?

Does the compatibility provide the libraries for such a thing as xbox live 360?

PS4 BC isn't happening...at least not with PS3 software.

The way I understand it, basically you're running a 360 emulator on One, so there is cross-play between One and 360 users - it's already a thing in Gears of War MP - and cross-platform parties already work too as I heard. As for DLCs, they'll be downloadable just fine too apparently. The games (and their DLCs) will be pushed out in "waves," but I think I read somewhere that publishers/developers will have to allow their game to become part of the Backwards Compatibility program, so there is a possibility of some games opting out.

Yeah, I wonder if mp will be a part of it.  It may just be sp... Which would be kinda crappy.

I don't own a xbone though, so I don't really care.  I still have my 360, but haven't even turned it on in a couple months.  I probably should.  I bet there's a 100 updates...

I wonder how stable the emulator will be since the 2 consoles have totally different hardware and software

I imagine it will be opt-in and not opt-out for developers. Some developers probably have servers long dead and not have to deal with the headaches of complaints.

The CEO of Playstation released a statement yesterday saying they will NOT be doing backwards compatibility.

I'll come back and play some, but most of my time will likely be split between Fallout 4 and Halo 5.  I am looking forward to returning for some games, especially with never having to use the 360 controller again.

^ What's the issue with the X-Box 360 gamepad? The one with the twist D-Pad was the best gamepad I've held, concerning these past two current generation consoles.

I tried the X-Bone gamepad in at a gamestore, and I really hate the analog sticks on it. They're just like the crappy flimsy PS3 ones. But the X-Bone gamepad shape is still more ergonomic then the PS4 gamepad, so... both current gen gamepads are flawed... wonder what geniuses have been working on the Elite X-Bone gamepad? ... I want no more geniuses working of gamepads. I just want a real gamer working on one for a change.

So true. How's Halo 5? I found the lack of splitscreen (and my current monetary situation :D) a huge turnoff. It kinda seems to play like H3 and Reach, which is nice. At one point I'll definitely get it though.

For real? Obviously no confirm on Mass Effect 3 ofc

I have to say, every game I have played on PS4 which was a PS3 game runs awesome, way smoother. Diablo is great ..

I would love to play a version of ME3MP which actually ran smooth

The cell processor was very powerful but it was a nightmare to develop software for. Mark Cerny did a great job building the PS4.

As for the PS3 ports/remasters, I agree 100%. I haven't played D3 since getting the platinum earlier this year but it's amazing how much improved it is on PS4. Oh and TLoU is one of the best games ever and only got better at 60FPS.

The backwards compatabilty uses an emulator, so you'd actually be playing on XBox 360 as far as the servers are concerned

I don't even know if ME2/ME3 will be released right away. The first one is there because Microsoft has a first party relationship to it.. they have to hash out all of that **** with other pubs.

It wouldn't matter. 30fps all day! Everyday! Don't matter if you're 360ing or Xboning.

With Fallout 4 just on the horizon? Prognosis negative.

I might dabble a bit, and then remember why I stopped playing.

True, but my PC doesn't run the game a lot faster either, so... And honestly, I don't even care.
