That sucks about ME2 and ME3 if this list is true, but I'd be still happy, since it includes a bunch of games that I've purchased, but never gotten around to play.

I don't see the point in making Forza 2 & 3 compatible.  If you want an older Forza game, then sure...Forza 4 seems reasonable.

But if an XBONE owner wants to race, wouldn't they just go with Forza 5 or 6?  How often would they consider loading up Forza 2 or 3?

 

They must think players want to import their tailpipe-based romance characters.

Me too, and Witcher 2. I really wished for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas, but hey, it's something.

Saw that list in the news today and was hoping it was incomplete so I came here.  I'd love to have this game be BC.  I've played way too much Destiny lately.  Guess I'm off to Fallout 4.

I just saw the official list. Looks like nobody is coming back. Mass Effect 2 didn't even make the list?

There are only so many resources available to do compatability of these games.

I find it entertaining that Sonic 1 2 and 3 are there. Games running in an emulator running in an emulator.

Those were the best Sonic games.  It was all downhill from there.

The first ME is on the list but not the other two.  What gives!?  Didn't ME3 finish in the top 20ish on the poll?  COME ON!

Original ME was Microsoft studios. 2 and 3 were not. I would imagine they will come in time, but it does require a sign off by the publishers/developers to make it happen.

Everyone download a copy of ME1 on release day, hopefully the demand will be high enough that Microsoft will see it and negotiate to bring them in the update.

Unless it's going to be re-released in a package deal update for the new consoles, I don't see any reason a publisher wouldn't offer their back catalog of games. They would be giving old games a chance to sell again, and make a few bucks off people who sold or never had them. I think the whole backwards compatible thing should be used like steam is now. Have sales of old games for a couple bucks, kill the secondary market for the games, and maybe make a few microtransactions in the process. If Microsoft already developed an emulator I don't see there being that much work involved getting games up on the marketplace. Its a win for everyone but game stop and used sales.

I had the ps4 since launch and never even wanted a Xbox one, and I was a huge 360 fanboy. Once I saw that backwards compatibility was coming though I knew I'd be getting one, and mass effect series was a big part of why I took the leap and bought a halo 5 console. I knew it was coming in November and saw mass effect staring at me from the promo materials, that was all I needed.
