Much hate, much misunderstood our beloved RNG.  A general consensus amongst the players that it needs work to be more 'fair' and still do what it was intended to do.

The first thing we need to establish is the these mp games are reliant on micro funding, it's a simple fact that can't be escaped.  I think how far a game goes is perfectly illustrated between ME3MP which was a big success money wise and thus support wise and DAIMP which appears to be big disappointment financial wise and support wise.

There needs to be a reasonable reward for those that just want to play a lot and achieve success and those that don't have time or do not want to grind and wish to get ahead by using real money.  In my opinion DAIMP actually got half way there by way of the promotion system.  I know that many don't seem to like it but it really does what it was intended to do  reward people that play the game a lot and make them more powerful.

The 2nd part of course is gear, you can grind it out to get the best gear but they payoff for people that actually paid real money was pure awful essentially being the same low random chance as playing a few games to get gold.

Since these games are cooperative and not PVP I do not view the purchase of items to be a pay to win scenario as I would PVP games.  I would like to see people that pay real money get the same chests but a totally different % of getting good items, giving them a much higher chance to reap the rewards

I would also like to see a wider variety of chests in existence all the time.  Keep your three levels of normal random chest but always have weapons only, gear only and make them more expensive gold or credit wise.

As far as my own experience goes in these games, I did not buy any real cash items for this game at all.  For ME3MP I did spend real cash but never to get items out of the RNG.  I normally purchased a few dollars worth of stuff whenever a good expansion came out, whether I got anything worthwhile from the store or not didn't matter, I was spending becasue I approved of the new content and wanted more.

tl;dr?  Go watch cat videos instead.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there will be any changes, whether chest or rng store system related.

It's far too late in the day for anything to be changed unfortunately, with a bit of luck things'll b better in future games...

The lack of successful monetizing items via the Store is arguably DAMP's greatest undoing. Had DAMP been a financial success, Bioware might have been more interested in fixing bugs, releasing new content and keeping the community alive.

yeah gear progression is what you should of had in the same way you got it in me3, it would of made things easier for a lot of people if they could have bought $50 worth of weapon chests in the same way they did for me3, your still not guaranteed to get anything you want but at least you know if your not going to get duplicates of low level stuff forever ....

They should have made high level weapons available behind challenges and in RNG slot machine chest.

Like 'complete 250 rounds with the Archer' = High Level Bow

Complete 250 Nightmare Runs or 5 Heart Breaker = All Hakkon Weapons

I play alot of games that have these options... You complete a challenge you get rewarded or you can use MT to buy the weapons and seeing it is co-op if someone wants to buy a weapon then who cares.... People can still grind the weapon with a chance of getting it in gold chests or guaranteed weapons once they complete challenges.

Beating end game Challenges without end game items would defeat the purpose of needing such items. Thus I do not think end game items should be awarded necessarily that way. If we had a significantly large end-game item pool (new players may still have) one item could be randomly award per weekend challenge completion, but that is as far as I would go as far as award items for challenges.
I honestly like the idea of RNG in games. It stretches the lifespan of the game as well as values high-end loot acquisition. However, what we have in DAMP is an abomination. So much so that real life dollars are out of question even for newcomers. Precious opportunities to make cash to support the game further were lost due to reasons I personally can't understand.

If you have done 250 NM runs and still don't have all your hakkons they should be giving it to you.

This game has lasted as long as it should have being tacked on multiplayer/4 map glitch fest so prolonging the game is just a dick move when you have implemented a predatory RNG casino slot machine system.

250 runs on each character isn't a "FUN" thing to accomplish, but atleast if you don't have what you're looking for by the time you grinded that much you atleast get rewarded for your time.

High Level raids on WoW or Final Fantasy XIV have more rewarding RNG than this game.

I don't want an expanded loot table... I already got screwed over grinding for all my dragon/hakkon weapons, wasting mats and time and now they're giving them away to people who haven't even done a NM run and now all I'm getting in chests are Dragon Weapons I spent forever grinding for in Perilous.

Funny how rng works, I got the hakkon bow in a store chest before killing a nm dragon.

If people wish to spend their hard earned money on weapons, promotions whatever, they should be able to.

Also, that same stuff should be available through normal play.

Reminds me of this old thread. This was from a time when the game was new and people were willing to give their money to Bioware as a shortcut to get new toys.

While I personally would not put my money on a RNG Store, for me there is nothing wrong with monetizing the game in order to have the means to improve it further. It worked well with ME3MP, but apparently things got screwed up with DAMP.

If I had option to buy top gear with real money,I would use it.

I spent money on me3mp chests, but you got something for it, buy one large chest and gain better loot for the next 100k gold you spend, made no difference to me really I bought the large bioware points pack via the dragonage page (£16) once a month and then used it to buy chests during the month at the time i had plenty of cash and didn't care much,

with daimp i haven't bought anything other than the dlc's because the store system doesn't give you anything for it, your lucky if you get decent salvage out of the junk it gives out which is really atrocious, its like they looked at really crap game stores for inspiration instead of the glory that was me3's refreshing take, hell they could have put 20 levels in every weapon and it still would of been better than the trash system they implemented.

and yes if they had a decent store system i probably would of bought a couple of chests because despite its many many bugs the game is fun, and i would of paid money to get a high level item at the start rather than spend week farming up games on routine until i finally had the armour upgrades to safely take my starting armour noob self into higher levels (i actually had crafted purple armour on all the chars before i had upgrade parts to upgrade one set of armour .....) well obviously i got the aw unlocked and was zooming through peri without any upgrades with my epic purple lvl 8 staff ...... but all the other chars i was stuck in routine as they went down faster than a whores drawers when faced with a $20....

Should a man on his wedding anniversary know that? LOL

Once on a school trip to Stone St Lawrence in Maldon a group of us were approached by a really scraggy looking, we presumed, street walker asking if any of us had a tenner on us! As a group of worldly wise 13 year olds we all kind of looked awkward and ran away.

I don't know what inflation has done to the cost of negotiable affection in Maldon over the past 20 odd years but I'd put money on it not costing £150.

Just out of interest, you know for a friend not me personally, does that come with a free deep fried mars bar or a nice slice of haggis or something up your end of the country? :)

The thread was a tiny hope that we by some bizarre fluke a bioware person would look at it and have some input for ME4mp and beyond.

In this case I would like to point out another issue: crafting chars and amour

I have made just a little rough calculation.

To unlock chars and give them the best amour you have to craft amour three times (and twice by the three unlocked chars).

For this you need the following material:

Metal: 477

Leather: 501

Textile: 520

Supposing that salvaging of one weapon produces 1 of each material, and there are 8 weapons in a chest, you have to open 65 chests.

65 chest = 130,000 gold

ca. 400 gold per run = 352 runs

15 min per run = ca. 82h

normal player 20h per week = ca. 4 weeks playing for all chars and best amour (and NO NEW weapon, because all weapons were salvaged)

Nothing left to say.
