Much hate, much misunderstood our beloved RNG. A general consensus amongst the players that it needs work to be more 'fair' and still do what it was intended to do.
The first thing we need to establish is the these mp games are reliant on micro funding, it's a simple fact that can't be escaped. I think how far a game goes is perfectly illustrated between ME3MP which was a big success money wise and thus support wise and DAIMP which appears to be big disappointment financial wise and support wise.
There needs to be a reasonable reward for those that just want to play a lot and achieve success and those that don't have time or do not want to grind and wish to get ahead by using real money. In my opinion DAIMP actually got half way there by way of the promotion system. I know that many don't seem to like it but it really does what it was intended to do reward people that play the game a lot and make them more powerful.
The 2nd part of course is gear, you can grind it out to get the best gear but they payoff for people that actually paid real money was pure awful essentially being the same low random chance as playing a few games to get gold.
Since these games are cooperative and not PVP I do not view the purchase of items to be a pay to win scenario as I would PVP games. I would like to see people that pay real money get the same chests but a totally different % of getting good items, giving them a much higher chance to reap the rewards
I would also like to see a wider variety of chests in existence all the time. Keep your three levels of normal random chest but always have weapons only, gear only and make them more expensive gold or credit wise.
As far as my own experience goes in these games, I did not buy any real cash items for this game at all. For ME3MP I did spend real cash but never to get items out of the RNG. I normally purchased a few dollars worth of stuff whenever a good expansion came out, whether I got anything worthwhile from the store or not didn't matter, I was spending becasue I approved of the new content and wanted more.
tl;dr? Go watch cat videos instead.
