More polite translation: I'm not really interested in the lore and don't particularly enjoy immersion or character-building so I just pick whichever abilities I feel like using without worrying about in-game rationale, but I hope you guys enjoy yourselves.

Rule of cool. It's cool that Shepard switches from being a soldier to being a biotic superhero between ME1 and ME2. That's all the justification I need.
