I stumbled across a very odd bug yesterday - I searched the DA Wiki, but there was nothing about any bugs with this quest. I'm in act 3 and am trying to fight the High Dragon at the Bone Pit. I had my dw rogue Hawke, Anders, Sebastian and my figther was Fenris, if I rememeber correctly. The fight was normal at the beginning: first the fight against the big dragon, then he (or rather she) jumped on a cliff and some dragonlings appeared. When they were finished, mother dearest starting to spit flames on you and then came the next round: mother dragon - baby dragons - flames from the cliff - and after that... nothing. The High Dragon even stopped spitting fire at one point and was just tlooking at us very stupidly. My companions were still acting as if in a fight (Anders casting Heroic Aura etc), but nothing happened for nearly five minutes. I stopped the game after that and will retry this evening, but my question is: Has anyone else encountered something like that? Is it a bug or a mod conflict. I have no mod, that changes gameplay, just cosmetic mods and some armours, nothing, I hadn't the last time, I fought that dragon. Is there a trick, how to continue the fight, if that bug occurs again?

I would skip the quest,e specially since I hate killing dragons - always had a soft spot for them (I never kill 'Andraste' in DAO, let her decimate a few zealots, I did my job and warned Genitivi), but I like to complete the Bone Pit (for my fellow Fereldens of course).

I think, it doesn't matter, if you do Anders quest at the BP before or after dealing with the dragon - it's a seperate dungeon if I remember correctly?

Was the dragon up on the platform? Switch to Sebastian or Anders and attack the dragon. Once enough damage is done, it will move to ground level. Switch back to your rogue Hawke and continue to attack.

If you've done this, then I don't know what to say.

You can aways hit the dragon while it's up the plataform. You may even kill it without the dragon ever coming back down. Simply give Hawke a bow and have the trio attack the high dragon from bellow. There is even a blind spot you can exploit were the dragon will never hit you with fire balls.

I couldn't attack it - neitehr Sebastian nor Anders could hit it, not even with a aoe attack or spell. I even tried Vendetta with my rogue, didn't work. In the first round, Sebatian could still hit it, but in the second, it was, as if it were not there

There is a known bug in which the dragon stays up on the ledge indefinitely and you can't harm her even with ranged attacks. I've encountered this myself, had to reload from before the battle.

I tried it again yesterday and it worked fine. But still - strange bug. I played DA2 so often and always did the Bone Pit quests and this has never happened before.
