Well at the end of the day, it is the consumers, not media or "experts" that drives demand.

They did make a strange "best moment in gaming choice", but I guess they thought it was something special.

I would think it would be becoming Inquisitor or reaching Skyhold.

Also odd that they went with Freddie Prinze Jr for Performance. I thought he was good, but I didn't think he stood out from the rest of the cast.

Consumers are a collective, polling them doesn't give you their opinion it gives you a fickle average from the handful that bothered to vote.

At least with journalists you can follow the ones you agree with or understand, or learn about things you haven't heard of, or just wrap their titles in inverted commas so you can mock them without actually saying anything.

Its weird because that whole 'moment' was an entire sequence of quests really.  I mean which moment do you pick from that?  And funny that works for both DA I and the Witcher.

Yes, I find I your heart shall burn full of great moments and reaching Skyhold the first time was something special. In contrast they chose a whole mainstory questline for TW3. The sheer number of moments that could be special to different people there. Odd choices.

I don't think Inquisition is deserving of any of those awards. That's not a slight on the game itself, but those awards also have nominations that are just so much more deserving of them.

Actually, Inquisition's audio was really good; music, voice, and sound effects were all top notch. I could see it winning that one.

I don't think so. Personally, I felt half of the Inquisitors lines (with all voices) were delivered horribly, the music is forgettable, except the one that plays during the mage quest - can't remember what it's called, the one with time travel. Sound effects came across as not very realistic. Magic, fine, you can do whatever with that, but other sound effects... no.

Like I said, I don't think it's deserving of any of those awards.

Here is the song you are thinking about. And yes, it was probably one of Bioware's better musical song, including Mass Effect.

That's the one, my good man. Yes, that one sends chills down my spine. Definitely one of their better ones, but not enough to take the award in my book.

Little late. Voted in this what, last week or something?

Yeah, and a quest line isn't a moment.

Ori and the Blind Forest should be in the Best Gaming Moment category. There are a lot of touching moments in the game.

Actually, I'd have said the shooting of Babs in Arkham Knight. It was straight out of Killing Joke and Mark Hamill did a bang up job, as always. I'm hoping they start production on the animated movie soon, since he's agreed to come back as Joker for that.

I was also disappointed with their choices for those categories. I thought they would have done better with In Your Heart Shall Burn (meeting Cory) or In Hushed Whispers (watching all your companions die in a morbid future), and Miranda Raison for VA.

Well the show is over! Unfortunately, DAI did not win any of the awards they were nominated for. After winning 130+ awards in 2014, you would think they would win something here. But they did get runner up to Witcher 3 in the category of Best Visual design!

No idea how Witcher 3 wasn't even be nominated for best audio. The  soundtrak is fantastic.  The Bloody Baron nomination for "best moment" was also strange considering it's a whole (long) questline, without any really outstanding moment.(the questline as a whole is great) Though there are other moments in the game, which would have deserved it, so at least the right game won. Not surprised Dragon Age didn't win anything or didn't even end in the top 3 for best game. 2015 was a year with many decent games and not full of mediocrity like 2014.

2015 has been a much stronger year overall for major game releases, so DAI was up against much stiffer competition than in the annual awards last year. None of the games it was up against for GotY last year (Bayonetta 2, Dark Souls 2, Shadow of Mordor, etc.) seem to have even gotten nominated for these awards. Plus, DAI was a while ago and gamers have the attention span of a fruit fly.
