Hello there,

I recently reinstalled Dragon Age Origins and decided to use one of my old characters.

But there is something that was always bothering me, whether it was my character or others like Flemeth... The hairstyle they're using is a bit... off.

If you'll notice the hair falling to their eyes isn't the same length... Maybe I'm just obsessive about that small detail but once I noticed it the first time I couldn't get my eyes off it.

I've tried using tucked hair but it's actually got the same problem. Is this a texture problem, or something in the game settings?

That looks intentional.  I doubt they would want to make loose strands of hair symmetrical.  But it can probably be edited on the texture to remove the strands, or perhaps shorten the longer one to your preference.

That would be true if it wasn't just that particular hairstyle. I can't see why it would be intentional here but no on others.

I'm afraid I've no skills in texture editing. If someone could make that small edit I'd appreciate it.

The others don't have any loose strands of hair?  I don't know, I'm just saying that if you're designing hair with some loose strands, it looks artificial if they're symmetrical, because it's supposed to represent random strands that just slipped out of the character's intended hairstyle.  But perhaps that effect fails here because they're actually too symmetrical.  There should be maybe 2 or 3 on one side, and 1 on the other, with much different lengths.

Hm, there are some default hairstyles who do in fact have loose strands of hair and are symmetrical.

If at all possible I would like to make that hairstyle symmetrical like the others.

The ones in the male character's picture are not random loose strands, but braids that indicate the character created them intentionally, so those should look symmetrical.  The other one, I can't tell if it's supposed to be random or an intended part of the hairstyle.  The one in question I'm quite certain is supposed to be random.  But as I said, it is possible to make them look symmetrical if you want them to.  I won't be doing it, though.

Well, thanks anyway.

As I've said before I'm of no skill in that area so I'd greatly appreciate If someone could do it.
