All you have to do is listen to Bioware and they already said that MEA will not be like DAI. So you don't have to worry. MEA will be free of the negative influences from the plague that is known as DAI.

That isn't as much of an issue these days though as recently many websites are now disclosing if they were given money or are associated with the product they are reviewing and a lot of the ones who have not have been fined for not disclosing the information or have been discovered quite easily that they were paid to do the piece.
The other option is to avoid the reviewers who have known ties to larger companies and watch independent reviewers or, if you know someone who owns the game, try it out for yourself to see if you would like it.

Then find reviewers you trust or look at numerous user reviews. If you pre order or bought day 1 a game you ended up hating then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Even some of those guys get paid. There was a discussion on Reddit recently about a youtuber demanding a dev 17k just to mention his game. He wouldn't name names though.

No, because rioting over a single videogame in a free market is pretty much the stupidest thing I can possibly think of, and an example they should use in Britannica if they ever include the phrase "first world problem". If the game sucks, I just won't buy it.
