They can bring anyone back as long as I can immediately kill them for whatever reason. And immediately I mean immediately like first instance.

BTW they should make option from now on in dialog wheel as "don't listen any further take out murder knife and stab".

I love Merrill. But I wouldn't mind never seeing Leliana again. She is supposed to FINALLY settle down with the Warden. Dorian is going to be in it, but I can't stand his whining and wish he would just play a cameo role. I didn't like Iron Bull much either, he just didn't fit in like a Qunari and was too out of character. Plus I killed him, so yeah don't bring him back. I wouldn't mind hearing what happened to Velanna, but she shouldn't be a companion. Basically anything from Awakening should just play a cameo role. Sera should just also play a cameo at most, she's too shallow of a character and I can't stand her childishness and immature stupidity. The other characters from DA2 and DAI would be more than welcomed back. This includes Isabella, haha.

Most of them, honestly.

In regards to characters who have already shown up n the games specifically, the only ones that I'm completely alright with showing up again are Dorian, Fenris, Tallis, Sten, and maybe Merrill & Morrigan.

If they are not heavily involved n the Tevinter/Qunari storyline, or if they don't have a reason to get involved in the Solas storyline beyond "I knew him during the events of Inquisition", I don't need to see them. I don't need the nostalgia.

One thing I absolutely do not want are redundant characters - i.e., situations like the Alistair/Loghain/Stroud scenario where you have three characters filling the same role depending on the playthrough, so you have three different voice actors with three different voice files taking up space on the disk.

I'd also want to see a cut-down on characters who can have multiple but mutually exclusive roles, like Alistair, who can be King/Warden/Drunken Exile. The only real exception here for me is Fenris who could be either a slave or a freedom fighter and I could see how both of those could be worked in a meaningful way, but I don't want to see Cassandra, Leliana, or Vivienne show up as Divine or otherwise, both for this and the above reasons.

Contrary to popular belief, the Qunari aren't drones. They still are individuals, though they might try not to be.

You don't need to have the same personality as Sten in order to be a real Qunari.

Hmm just about everybody, especially the fan favorites like Alistair, Morrigan, Dorian, Varric, or Leliana. In fact how about no companions or previous player characters (keep things simple). I'm also about to get beat by Harding fans, but no Scout Harding for me :P I'm indifferent to her but her fandom is hurting my ears (sorry guys) :P

I'd be more than happy to see minor characters return, like Michel, Minaeve, or Fairchild.

Zombie Minaeve? Awesome.

Pretty much i wouldn't want to any returning characters save for maybe 1-2 randoms as cameo if they rly have to.The most no characters for me are Alistair , Morrigan, Varric , Cullen ,Flemeth and worst Leliana as they were spamming them enough.Of course there are also characters that are just so badly written that it hurts like Bianca, mentioned before Leliana and worst written character in the series Tallis

Unlikeable and badly written aren't terms that can be used interchangeably.

These are very different concepts.

Where i said they were?

Characters i mentioned as badly written were characters seemed written like from horrible fanfiction written by male teen that has some unrealistic fantasies about woman.

Well, it's actually because he's my least favorite character in the franchise, but to each their own. :P

I think they should bring back whoever they like as long as they feel that there's a good story to tell about them.

I love Alistair! I'm a huge fan girl of him. Less so of Anders in DA2, who I feel is my least favorite of the DA series. So we both hate a blondie.....

Qunari are different. But they are more like the differences we see between Arishok and Sten. Iron Bull was just WAY out there.

I would like to see most characters in the next game ideally. (Especially my grey warden) But if Cole, Vivienne, Blackwall, or the inquisitors advisors don't show up then I wouldn't be disappointed.

The only thing I want to see of him is Solas crushing his head and the Inquisition not giving a crap for he tried to disband them.

Time to abandon the overrated club (Alistair, Leliana, Morrigan) on the south; seriously, those dudes got more love than protagonists themselves, and ultimately they are not such big deal, some characters with more potential are being wasted just to give these an unnecessary cameo or worse, heavy relevance for story.

I would exclude Alistair from that club. I'm not saying that I want to see him again. On the contrary, I would rather move on to an entirely new cast and have no cameos at all rather than see the same faces time and again. But player decisions about Alistair have always been respected. If he dies in the game, he isn't brought back by any mystical powers, dragon blood or not. And again unlike Morrigan or Leliana, we're given plenty of opportunities to be rid of him. If you don't like him, import a world state where he's dead. You'll never see him again. He isn't shoved down your throat the way Morrigan and Leliana are. So yes, I would say that there is no reason to bring him back, but he is nowhere EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE to the degree of writers' pet that Morrigan and Leliana are.

But I will add Alistair to my list of characters I don't want to see again. Every time we see Alistair, it's because we're being given another chance to kill him off. Enough. If he's still alive at this point, leave him alone. Let him (and perhaps the Warden who loves him) have their happy ending. We've worked hard enough to achieve it.

I said overrated, not writer's pet, he is the character who has gotten more content on different media, suddenly they gave him a mystic bloodline to make him "special" and most of his cameos feel way unnecessary, but overall when I say a character is overrated, I rather mean the community is responsible for that, on this case for example, you clearly can see most people has built flawed assessments of Alistair thanks to popular beliefs (aka lies to make him seem pretty).

Edit: The only time I will leave him alone is when I have the chance to kill him on an ironic way (poetic justice) I'm tired of his "get aid and backstab" tactic.

Just what I was thinking!

That doesn't mean we have to like it. At least she wasn't in DA2. :P I just hope they don't retcon the Well decision as Morrigan always drinks because....reasons.

They will go down the usual path: if she didn't drink, she would have acquired the knowledge somewhere else because Flemeth's daughter.

I think some people are confusing what characters we don't want with what characters are likely to show up.

Everyone but Calpernia. You had your screen time, go away. I want fresh start. I won't mind cameo of character bound with Tevinter like Fenris or Dorian but only cameo. Varric was ruined for me in Inquisition, I don't even want to talk about Leliana. :|
