Just so we're clear, EVERYONE wants Dragon Age 4 to be set in Tevinter right?

I really want to buck this trend... Though it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility that we could support a more Lucerni dominated Magisterium (Or an empowered Publicanium.

It would be a change if instead of a single person we could support the Thedosian equivalent of a political party, wouldn't it?

Nevertheless, in hindsight, I must admit Bioware has done a good job so far with the succession crisis. You know they're interesting for many players when there are endless threads and posts devoted to argue whether it was a good idea to have Alistair as the king, or why Celene or Gaspard is the best ruler for Orlais, or which of the Divines isn't going to bring chaos to the Chantry.

Well, I would also just like to meet this Archon Radonis rather than muddle around in the aftermath of his death

I think it should be set either in Tevinter current, or ancient elvish history. Arlathan, Halamshiral etc or that could be like a side game or something Idk it's an idea don't judge me

THIS. That's my hope as well.

I've had enough marxism shoved down my throat thanks to Anders and Sera. Thanks, BW, but no more.

And btw, concerning the whole noble and heroic leitmotif of Fenris, the slave who fought for his freedom: To end slavery is the answer to the Magisters' oppression in the Imperium? Really? And then what? What will the formerly enslaved do for a living?

Will they all disband Tevinter and flee to the South? How many southerners will be able to provide jobs for them? Will thousands, maybe millions of jobs just magically sprout from nowhere?

And those that don't manage to find the means to work, what will they do? Rob people? Kill them for their money, for their food? Form gangs that prey on travellers and villagers? What will happen to the millions who have become homeless and jobless? Will they simply starve to death? Because hurray, I'm a freed slave! But oh, now I don't have food on the table everyday anymore. And because I've always been a slave who can't read nor write, I don't know what to do! Oh noes!

If the Imperium is wrong about slavery, what other socioeconomical system will replace it? That's a question idealists seldom know how to answer. Fenris only found his way out of this dilemma through Hawke's help. He had someone to lend a hand and teach him ho to survive in a drastically different society. What will happen to the millions who no longer have a hand to feed them, or who have no idea how and where to find non-abusive patrons to whom they can sell their workforce and earn an honest wage by the end of the day? And who will care enough to shelter them from injustice?

An old problem will just be replaced by another. I sure would like to see that theme being treated in DA4. It would add another layer of depth to the game, while promoting a healthy reflection on a trope. Ending slavery is a noble ideal, but applying the theory generates inevitable consequences that require a practical and carefully planned answer in anticipation. If BW decides to follow the trope and adds this extra situation for the player to handle, it may lead him/her to reflect on why ending something bad doesn't always have good consequences and doesn't automatically turn you into a hero. It may replace something bad with something even worse.

So basically the blacks after emancipation in America? Yes

Sorry I just always thought the American civil war to be hella epic, so if they draw any parallels in DA4 to the history there, it will provide great epic feels for me.

Eh, not likely, especially with an invader on their doorstep.  Social upheaval and drastically destructive civil war will likely only result in Tevinter falling to the Qun.

Well Tevinter is the South and the qun is the north. If they ally they're a union. And Solas could emancipate all of Tevinter's slaves, which he probably always wanted to do, which would destroy their economy, as happened for the American south. Now, he can focus on Qunari.

Actually, the forest of Arlathan is inside Tevinter's borders, so it's likely we'll see more of the ancient elven civilization in DA4, apart from Tevinter proper. Who knows, maybe this time we'll get details about how the great capital fell. Even if it was a ruined shadow of its former glory and Tevinters were only vultures preying on a corpse, there was a war that opened the gates of ancient elven magic to the Magisters.

I'm hopeful. DA:I already solved most of the issues about the Dales-Orlais war.

Sadly, I can see him dying, either in the Comic Magekiller or soon after the beginning of DA4.

Dorian, being a fan-favourite alongside his "pedigree" I can see becoming the next Devine if we're to choose. There's also Calpurnia that could potentially be the next devine.

I would certainly like the next game to take place in Northern Thedas, not just the Tevinter Imperium. That way we can go to Rivain and the Anderfels to meet new people to kill (or just talk to).

By the by, where is Kal-Sharok? Was it also in Northern Thedas? I would like to visit there too.

I also love the idea of helping to choose the next Imperial Divine, would certainly be interesting. I just hope that the next Dragon Age game has more politics and political maneuverings interjected into the story.

Solas doesn't care.  He's out to change the fundamental nature of the world and demolish it in the process.  He's not out to free the slaves anymore.  Plus, he's even admitted that he prefers slavery over the Qun.  He wouldn't target them second, I would think.

I can see it, but for once I would like to see the ruler be a mover and shaker of the plot rather than someone whose primary purpose is to die at a critical moment.  Dorian is politically unpopular and Calpurnia is an enemy of the state (As I understand it).  I doubt any of them will be ascending to the position anytime soon.

Just thought I'd share, Kal-Sharok is on the border of the Anderfels (and-I think-Orlais) And count me in, I'd love to see it too.

Though I wouldn't want to explore too much of Northern Thedas in one go. I'd rather have Bioware focus on one country at a time so that they do it justice.

Yeah, I'm hoping he won't be killed off, but every DA game we need to choose a new ruler of the area where it's set in (exception is DA2, but even then Hawke can be a Viscount).

From what I've seen the current Archon, I kinda like him. Although he's not much for drastic change since he realizes Tevinter is really on the precipice of destruction and any drastic changes may result into civil unrest, thus giving the Qun an opening for invasion.

So he seems more for the status-quo.

That and if a mage can be a divine, Dorian has a high probability.
