I'd prefer for the next game to be set in a country we know very little about. We know a bit too much about Tevinter for me to enjoy the country for being something 'new'. It's something I can find a ton of info about in a very quick wiki search instead. I enjoyed DA2 for being set in a city-state I knew nothing about. Even if the protagonist was from Ferelden. DAi covered Ferelden and Orlais but by then I knew too much about Orlais for it to be a novelty and something new.
Just so we're clear, EVERYONE wants Dragon Age 4 to be set in Tevinter right?

I'd like to go to Qunandar, there are Pyramids there and, according to lore, humans first came from Par Vollen so, how did a people that were human at the time of the ancient elves become Qunari? Was that some experiment done in hopes of victory over otherwise undefeatable elves?
Even if Tevinter, let us play either a Tevinter Loyalist or, a Qunari fighting against Tevinter (or a spy) and, not a Tal Vashoth. I want to see what life is really like under the Qun.

Everything seems to point toward Tevinter. I am okay with going someplace else, but I do think a break from Southern Thedas would be a nice thing. Would love to see and explore some other parts of Thedas definitely.

Not really. I'd prefer to go to Nevarra or Antiva.
I thought BioWare had said that it'd be in Tevinter.

Probably not everyone. But yeah, going to Tevinter sounds good to me, and makes sense.

I'm looking forward to Tevinter, but I'm a little worried about how it's going to depict slavery. It's a sensitive topic for a lot of people, for good reason. Hopefully we get to abolish slavery, otherwise I'm afraid there might be controversy that drowns out anything else about the game.

If they can make Tevinter appreciably different from being in Ferelden and Orlais, maybe build up one "hub" city like they did with Kirkwall but still have a large number of other regions to explore, it could be pretty interesting. Especially considering the way Dorian talked up the cities.
And Dorian wouldn't lie to me. He WOULD NOT lie to me.

If we go to Tevinter I hope it's for tearing down its system, not merry-dancing with the magisters while searching for Solas. I don't want it to be a mere scenery.
Personally, I'd prefer Anderfels. We know next to nothing about this country except that it has a Grey Wardens HQ.

My preference would be having boat based adventures on that body of water north of Tevinter (Boeric Ocean?), so they open up basically everywhere we haven't been.

No. I have doubts about Tevinter's social structure translating well into game-play.

I just wanted to say that I approve of visiting Nevarra as well. That place is still filled with magic, even if its the magic of death.
Antiva sounds ok too, that's the home of "bendy" Zevran is it not? The Anderfels sounds like a cool place.
Not keen on visiting the home of the Qunari, they are my least favorite race. Bestial looking grotesqueries, that seem built for marshall war rather than magical might and cunning. They remind me of the Jafaa in stargate, whereas the Tevinter magisters remind me of the ancients or the Tollans, advanced races, even the guaold are more advanced and refined... with slaves.

I hear Tevinter is dirty and full of Tevinters. Or would that be Tevenes? Either way clearly not a place I want to visit. How about a boat cruise?

Abolish or oppose? Even for a powerful hero, expunging slavery from Tevinter would be a tall order. The literal god of rebellion didn't manage to eradicate slavery, despite having a massive network of spies, incomprehensible magical power, and a couple millenia more experience than anyone we could possibly play as in DA4.
I expect we'll be able to try as hard as we can, though. Even if we don't succeed.

Even if we do go to Tevinter (which would be cool) chances are the developers will just cookie cut a tiny section out of the main city for your character to visit, like they did with Orlais. And if I sound bitter bout that, I am.

On one hand, I'm extremely curious about Tevinter.
On the other hand, Bioware tends to suck at designing urban areas, so.........
That is a concern.
A part of me wishes they could subcontract out to Bethesda or Rockstar to build the game world and just have the Bioware team work on the characters and story.
But, yea, to answer the OP, I do both want and expect that we're going to Tevinter. I'd love to see Rivain, Antiva, Nevarra, Seheron, and Par Vollen as well, but Tevinter is pretty high on my list.
Not very keen on seeing the Anderfels, though.

Yeah, me too. The next game should have a big city, believably realized as multlple areas representing different districts and functions, not a toy village consisting of one market square and a few houses.
I want to go to Tevinter more than anything, but if they can't it justice it's better to leave it to my imagination.

I'll throw another "I'm bitter about how Orlais was handled" out there. That was massively disappointing.
I've said this in other threads and I'll say it here, too. Them getting Minrathous right is more important to me than them getting Solas' story right. If they bring Minrathous alive in all of it's glory, then they can have Solas' story end with him tripping off screen and busting his head open on a rock for all I care.

Also dai's world is pretty but lifeless(at least concerning people). If that's how da4 is then I'll have even less interest then I do now.
Edit: pr!ck is ****ed out? The hell?

Nah. I really don't give a ****** about Tevinter. And because everyone there is pretty much a ******, I won't have any interest in the politics or any minor characters.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, except that I would actually be interested in a plot involving a lot of politics... but I still have such a "404 f*ck not found" reaction to Tevinter that I don't want to go there regardless.
EDIT: assuming "politics" meaning something other than collecting Dumat statuettes on a timer.

I see no problem. In DA2 Hawke can have slave, pay for slave/worker, or set her free. And in DA:O we can even sacrifice elves for +2 con. Was handled perfectly we had a choice. I don't see anyone caring much. We shouldn't care what oversensitive people think.

If they do Minrathous, they better do it like Novigrad, not like Val Royeaux.

I liked idia like in DA2 play in one city just make it bigger much bigger like we have all areas in DA:I make same think just all areas is part of the city. But after DA2 I doubt we ever have something like this. Only empty desert and forests ![]()

Even Dorian, a reformer, saw slavery as commonplace and not particularly noteworthy. It seemed normal to him. So I doubt we will be able to abolish slavery.
More than likely, it will go unmentioned for the most part. We'll see "servants" and "workers" with no explanation as to how they got there.
But I'm sure there will also be slavery specific plots, such as those involving Calpernia, who will likely be trying to free slaves.
There might also be a plot where the protag can choose between fighting slavery or allowing it to happen.
I am more interested in how bloodmagic will be approached. I think it would be fascinating to have a protag who starts out on a mission, only to have the circumstances and settings change abruptly when it is discovered you were under the affects of bloodmagic the whole time, and you have to discern what is real and what is mind control.

The Tevinters probably don't. They have had three games worth of peace and quiet, I'm sure they'd rather continue to enjoy that.
