I don't want to kill hallas or any other animals.

If you run by the family and scare them away, Iron Bull will make a comment about was that necessary. I now go through the other door not to scare the family.

If you walk near the nugs, the companions will comment. But at least I have never had disapproval unless I attack them.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but where do you think all the leather you use for crafting comes from?

If you are so committed to preserving animal life in Thedas, you should also avoid crafting any armor or weapons that use leather. Or avoid any premade weapon or armor that by their schematics would have used leather.

It had to come from somewhere. If you and the Inquisition didn't kill for it, some one else did and you're consenting to the kill by using the spoils.

Dragon scales and ram leather are not willed into existence, after all. You want armor with cold resistance, then a bear or a fox died so you can have it.

What is tragic is that a Nug was blasted into a tree, and that the remains were impossible to remove. Hence every time I went past that area on a Search; *Ping*....

One advantage of friendly fire - I don't mess around with uncontrollable AoE like Chain Lightning. I only hit stuff I intend to kill.

Also, if it makes anyone feel better, sometimes ambients turn red if they take fall damage near your party. So you might not have hit them.

Dude, I'm pretty sure Snofleurs in my games consider the inquisition to be their holocaust.

While I kill random encounters like bandits or freemen, these innocent animals accidentally get killed by other party members. I really wish they didn't. They are so cute and pretty :crying: ..I wouldn't even kill bears if they don't chasing me.

It just makes me feel weird and sorry.
Especially when Dorian shouted 'Take that, you filth!' or something like that.

Oh, Dorian..it's really not...

Maybe it's a Tevinter thing, I don't know, something like southern animal filth.

Solas killing a halla with stonefist feels wrong too.

Boo hoo.

This is quite frequent in the Hissing Wastes, where the august rams have tendency to maul themselves on the steeper slopes. Annoying as is locks you in combat,

I didn't say all the meat came from the magical freezer section or anything.

Let me put it this way. I don't like meaningless casualties.

Those animals got killed for nothing, not for their leather or meat.

They just got caught into a fight which they didn't hold any sway over.

Their death meant nothing but an unfortunate accident.

I had no intention of harming those beautiful creatures but it happened anyway.

And that's what I just don't care for.

I did post this as a half joke at first but...

Not really. But it could irritate me like some random text made out of pixels.

I generally avoid killing fennecs, unless I'm rolling a mage, then I'm afraid the little furry bastids are going to eat lightning when they get too close to the scuffles. Snoufleurs can eat it, because the leather is too good. I kill so many druffalo I'm sure some of Crestwood looks like that scene from Dances With Wolves with the poached tatunka.

Killing Halla sorta feels... wrong when you play an elf.... otherwise the only thing I try not to kill are the nugs in Crestwood.

Playing as an elf, Inky gets sad when a halla gets killed by accident. But when it comes to nugs, DIE!

So... am I the only one who cackles while AOE-nuking the nug cave in the deep roads? If the nug king's going to "judge" me regardless of my actions, I'm going to earn it.

During Trespasser I was excited at the revelation that fade-touched halla skins will grant invisibility. But then I learned they're bugged so that's not longer fun for me. And I hunted all those hallas with Sera... :(

When I created new armor during Jaws of Hakkon I chose materials relevant to the battles I won them in. Great Bear Hides prove that I'm not afraid of facing bears. Dragon materials to show to the Jaws of Hakkon I've hunted high dragons.
