I need a way to backup my saves so when i move the EA account that windows 10 forced me to create (and thus xbox auto picked up when i started playing on a 360) to the account i've had forever which holds 5 years+ of Mass effect backup data and a few other origin/ea games.

I spoke with an EA phone rep who told me by changing the gamer tag to my old/primary email address I would lose all the game save data from DA 1 and DA 2...  I can't go along with that. My main impetus for this is i want to import my DA info to a PS4 when i get one, which will happen soonish.. but not so soon if i cannot move my story info.  Only means EA loses out on me buying DAI, tho I'm certain i'll have something sorted by the time ME:A is released.. but that's potential EA revenue lost.

Why is this process so damn convoluted?

Also, this is a technical issue that involves both ME and DA so I really don't know where to post other than here.

You don't import your saves from Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II into the third game.

instead you create a world state using https://dragonagekeep.com and import that into Dragon Age Inquisition.

The only thing you will lose is the look of your Hawke, but considering how little most of the characters look like themselves...it's easy to headcanon away.

So then the whole process of choices, of the weighted 'personality' of the hero you built is not transferred in any way? What a waste of potential.  So much more could be done, i guess that will be left to whatever company studio surpasses Bioware in the future as the dynamic of storytelling advances with the integration of each individual participant.  Good to know, but the whole thing is very confusing and unclear.  I guess i expected more from Bioware.

I happen to like how my Hawke looks, i spent a lot of time on making her look perfect.

All your choices you re-do in the keep. As for Hawke you re-create her in the game.

How did windows 10 make you create another EA account anyway?
