Sorry if this isn't the place to post, I'm not sure where this question should go!

I've just recently managed a second play through (because I've not had the time) and one of the things I noticed was that Hawke now carries the Staff of Violation/Corruption and Stroud had a shield that seemed to have the Architects symbol on it, or something that resembles the Architects little mask that he wears.

I understand the change for Hawke since 1. they are a mage and 2. Supported the mages.

But what I don't understand is Strouds shield why not the standard Griffon shield?

Or is this a reference to the fact that the Architect was going to show up in this portion of the game and then they removed him?

I think that it's because those are the default for a warrior if you don't have a weapon equipped. Hawke's the same way as a rogue. I'm not sure as warrior, but I'd bet the farm.

Why they did it, I don't know, but I assume that with the size of dai, something had to give somewhere, when it came to detail. I may be wrong, but that's my guess.

Why would Stroud announce his status with a Griffon shield if he's trying to hide from the other Wardens?

True but then why would he wear distinctive blue and silver grey warden armour as well?

Because armor is harder to come by than a shield?
