Finally finished Book 4 this morning, and just hit the store:
Victory Chest gave me:
Brand
Rime
Dancer's Axe
This leaves me with 6/7 level 27s, missing the only one I really wanted out of the chest:
Bosun's Blade ![]()
But I can't even be mad about that, because of the icing on the cake: in the Commendation Chest just prior to the Victory chest, I got the Amulet of Physical Immunity (and there was much rejoicing)!
That leaves me missing only the BB to be able to get Crescent's Shadow! Thank you RNGeezus!

So pretty well for fighter types. I've been playing he two archer classes the keeper and the ele mostly lately. Sounds very useful indeed. Does it work vs the leaping horned ones as well?
I wouldn't say all. I never put it on my AW..Fade Cloak for the winBeerfish, equip the amulet on all your characters and call it a day...
So Pronto lent me his Xbox profile so I could do his weekend challenge for him while he is on vacation. It turned out to be a monthly challenge so I didn't bother getting around to doing it for him until now.
His chest contained:

Yes you do
you won't be using it lol
The amount of people getting the Crescent from book 5, at the same time, will probably crash the servers.
It's the only thing I have left to get. I see a lot of people are only one or two away.
People that already have it will get another 3....so good chance at a max damage.
ROFL Are you sure you didnt salvage his crescent / PI by 'accident'?So Pronto lent me his Xbox profile so I could do his weekend challenge for him while he is on vacation. It turned out to be a monthly challenge so I didn't bother getting around to doing it for him until now.
His chest contained:
- Knight's Second
- Bolt
- ...hmmmm... that's odd... Only two things in that chest. Oh well.
I thought the Knight Second's stat seems kind of dumb, but the shield looks cool so I equipped it on my Lego for a few games. It seems to work better than any other shield in protection.
As for the Amulet of PI, I only put it on a few char so far. I found I like to have the Renewal amulet on the Virtuoso otherwise I kept running low on mana if I spam Power Chord too fast. And on the rest, the cooldown amulet seems to better since I am only playing on Threatening and occationally on Perilous... knock down is not common.
I found that I am getting items that doesn't really benefit low promo char as much. 100% crit damage is not going to work too well with my 32 cunning agents.

That's what happens when Bioware has a DAMP firesale.
finally got darkspawn, so I could complete the challenge - yay
Book 4:
Bolt (meh)
Isana's Song (ok'ish)
and
Edit: I think I'm cursed with the Hakkon Weapons... maybe because I got the first (and only) in a normal 2k chest?!

Grats on amulet ![]()
Isana's Song isn't half bad btw, plus the model looks great. The CL proc is meh I suppose but it's another security net for your AW ![]()
Beerfish, equip the amulet on all your characters and call it a day...
What does it do other than avoid knockdown? I am not concerned with knockdown with my characters that have leaping shot or frost step etc.

Go laugh at a despair demon trying to ice nuke you from 100 miles away.
Qunari lunging through 8 walls and landing on you. Nope try harder Mr Qunari.
Bolt
Andruil's gift (196 damage, not sure what's the damage range on this one)
PI.
Honestly, I assumed I would get maybe one lvl 26, and a couple of 24's, considering my short time playing (I think I am at 30 con/28 Will/27 Cun as of yesterday). Was terribly excited when I saw the Hakkon Bow, Rime, and the Valos somethingorother (
I always forget the name of that sword).
However, I kind of concur with @lcneed, regarding some of the loot. As anxious as I am to try out the new bow, with my low cunning and my serious addiction to Hok (and not having anything above 2% HoK ring), I feel inclined to add HoK and Attack % to the grip. Sooooo.....the crit damage won't get much play.Of course, three shots at once should be fun!
But let's face it. I have received mostly higher end shields (through chests and dragon drops), and now two top tier swords. I think RNGesus is insisting I play more Lego and Templar.
"Has anybody got a bandage?!?"
Congrats on the bow! It's the best Hakkon of them all. A lot of people underestimate what you can accomplish with that bow.
Here are my suggestions:
Play both the Archer and the Hunter as Melee range. Yeah, I've been told I was mad for thinking like this, but it does work without having a gazillion stats and it's very very effective. Being in melee range gives you a big advantage, you hit 2 to 3 times the enemy at point blank, so that's about 250% weapon damage. You can outright kill those bastards in 1 attack or you can stand at range and pick 2 or 3 enemies that aggro on you while you dilute your DPS by targeting more than 1 enemy. Dead enemies can't hit you back and they don't generate aggro. That's the beauty of melee range, it has a lot of advantages that are counter-intuitive. You'll see enemies run pass you if you don't try to shoot them first and get in melee range first. Use that to your advantage.
Forget about Attack %, put Critical Chance instead. This bow is very awesome and you absolutely need to take advantage of the 100% Critical Damage. You'll need about 50 to 60% Critical Chance for that. Your DPS will skyrocket, your enemies will die faster and you'll survive more.
Opportunity Knocks is your friend on the Archer. That thing is awesome with the Hakkon bow. Imagine if you have a Critical Hit for 66% of the time, but with the Hakkon bow it's 2 out of 3 shots for 1 attack. That means every attack shaves 2 seconds from your cooldowns. Top it off with your allies Critical Hits and you're bound to get a lot of skill uses in a short amount of time. It is possible to get good results at medium to long range, but the melee range makes it twice as good if not more.
For the Hunter, Stealth cooldown is shorter for each hit you do so 3 shots for 1 attack is reducing Stealth cooldown tremendously. It's all about making sure you can pop back stealth as soon as you dealt your burst damage. Again, you'll get much better results at melee range.
As you can see, everything I suggest is built around being in the middle of everything. You need to be point blank to make the best out of it. You'll probably need Fallback Plan and Leaping Shot to keep yourself alive, good thing both the Archer and the Hunter have those, but the amount of damage and fun will be amazing. It's all about adjusting your playstyle around the Hakkon bow and get the most out of it. Have fun!

Thanks for the tips!
I have been slowly trying things out of my normal comfort zone. For example, yesterday ran multiple FC perilous runs with an AW wearing the Storm Pact belt, and Heart of Pride (again, I only have a 2% HoK ring and only 30 Con...yikes). I may have developed carpel tunnel after those runs, but @MrBi6Cheese wasn't wrong about the build. I was doing so much damage and had almost constant Barrier.
Call me chicken, but I selected Peaceful Aura for my AW wearing Storm Pack belt LOL
It does seems like things just ran by me totally ignoring me and beeline for the keeper or archer. ![]()
The fact that there isn't a bow grip that will let you achieve HOK and offensive leather is annoying.
Engraved Longbow Grip:
12 Imperial Vestment Cotton / 6 Imperial Vestment Cotton = +36% HOK
Thick Longbow Grip:
12 Craggy Skin / 6 Craggy Skin = +54% Critical Damage
12 Great Bear Hide / 6 Great Bear hide = +32% Critical Chance
12 Craggy Skin / 6 Great Bear Hide = +36% Critical Damage, +11% Critical Chance
12 Great Bear Hide / 6 Craggy Skin = 21% Critical Chance, +18% Critical Damage
IMO you're probably best off just using the stupid high amount of HOK and having the flexibility with your ring slots.
Up to you whether you prefer 16% HOK or 12% critical chance.
But, keep in mind as you promote eventually you'll want more critical damage, ect. The HOK is pretty much a throw it on there and it will be there forever until you're max defense and want to swap it for critical damage.

I think Crit Chance on bow grip > HOK for us with low cunnings. CWN could always use two 2% HOK rings for an awesome 4% HOK which was what I did before I got the 10% HOK ring.
