Because this place is indescribably atrocious right now. Filled to the brim with ideas & theories that will never be implemented and stupid threads that clog up the drain on a daily basis. God forbid if an informative post turns up, it will get buried within the hour by all the crap threads people make.

This is why you should never announce a game too far ahead of time. Announce and release within 12 months. Nevermind the whole rushing thing, just start developing without telling anyone until it's at least in beta condition or early release-candidate.

All the theory threads would be replaced with threads full of people complaining how the game isn't what They envisioned. This forum feels toxic, no matter what stage of development any given game is in. Sorry for the negativity, I just know how little I come here anymore, and it saddens me a little.

Fanbases are never happy as a whole. Elements will be happy with what they get, but another portion will then be upset.  If BioWare didn't announce Andromeda they would be "hiding it" for some negative reason or another, but if they announce it too early its "not enough information for us".

As far as the state of these forums no matter what they are going to be like this, Bethesda boards were just as bad and they only announced the game a few months before release and when they finally release Andromeda there will be negative posts about how wrong BioWare understood the franchise because of this one detail or another.

I agree, and I also brought up this topic at another game forum, this is what someone replied with, we were comparing Fallout 4's annoucement to Andromeda's.

Theres a big difference. Bethesda is owned by Zenimax, a private company. Rockstar and Bioware are owned by Take-Two and EA respectively, both of which are publicly traded. They have investors they need to report to and game announcements factor into reports and projected forecasts. Stock goes up when game announcements are made. They dont have the same luxury to just sit on information for 2 years and not say anything until 6 months before release. A private company doesnt have to divulge info to anyone. Most AAA games are published by publicly traded companies which is why announcements like what Bethesda did are rare

I agree and disagree, for DICE only announced Mirror's Edge about the same time as Bethesda did with Fallout 4, of course the game was delayed for a few months, but it was a short announcement date. I think there is more to it then just what type of company EA is.

Edit:

I forgot to mention, I think part of the reason for the announcement of Andromeda was because many "gaming sites" were still complaining about all the issues around Mass Effect and EA wanted that to stop as well.  Now people are speculating more neutrally towards Mass Effect instead of just doom and gloom.

Mirror's Edge was announced at E3 2013 and then we've got "conceptual prototype"-footage in 2014.

Like how they did a teaser for Battlefront at E3 2013, got everyone excited, then it turned out sh*t two years later.

Wait... you think that not knowing if there was even going to be an ME4 would have somehow led to fewer crap threads? That's crazy talk.

A game releasing 13-18 months before schedule can only end well...

The forums would certain be interesting.

Why are ya'll being so pouty? This is how a normal gaming forum functions. If there is no new info fans will hypothesize and talk/argue about that, if new info is introduced that will be disseminated and hundreds of different interpretations will do battle upon the plains. It's normal.

The Codex. They all equally hate the "decline" of RPG gaming...even if they're toxic on some personal level.

I disagree. Andromeda doesn't need to be out any time soon to stop fans from complaining about this or that because I can almost guarantee that other fans, or even the same ones, would complain regardless.

I want Andromeda out when it's ready to come out. If it takes them a year or two, then so be it.

Quality game over rushed product to appease the fanbase.

The homogeneity of opinions on the Codex doesn't surprise me and as far as I'm concerned it's NOT a hallmark of a 'healthy' forum.

It's definitely not healthy. They got annoyed that I hated pedophiles.

Too serious. Not lulzy enough, I guess. ;)
