I would love that. Especially if we're exploring sunken alien ruins.
Spooky and beautiful.

That would be rather splendid, especially if it's combined with suitable ambient music like this:

I can imagine an NPC voiced by James Cameron now.

Space Cameron doesn't do what Space Cameron does for Space Cameron. Space Cameron does what Space Cameron does because Space Cameron IS Space Cameron.
I wouldn't mind it, it would overall add more to the exploration of the game. I don't see anything wrong with that.
It would be cool if they could pull it off. Although brief, I liked the underwater portion of Leviathan.
Ditto, easily one of the highlights of the DLC.
I like anything that has to do with underwater exploration, and every time I play Leviathan I get excited for that part. What was said here about some sunken ruins sounds amazing.
I have played 2 underwater exploration games that were really fun, so yes, I'd love something like that in other games too!

Oh, that would be awesome.
I for one don't mind the slowed down movement underwater, either. Of course, you could do some of the exploration in suit but some of it could also be done with... say.. using the Triton ADS or even the UT-47A Kodiak, which is designed to manage in uderwater conditions, even though not tested in field like Cortez said. Or some advanced models of either one or even some new machine.
You know, as long as it's not like Hrakert Rift.
How about no? Underwater segments in games are a turn off for me with the reduction in speed/mobility.
The resources they'd have to use for it and what they'd get back is not worth it.
Someone's never heard of the gravity suit from Metroid....
If they do make sure the swimming controls work the only thing i hate with Witcher 3 is the bad swimming controls.
But the Leviathan part going underwater was cool.
I would love that. I really enjoyed the short dive in Leviathan.
Leviathan underwater section was super lame...you basically had ZERO control on it and had to progress over a well-established path. Super linear gameplay if you ask me. I never liked how in the end these underwater sections were handled.
If I remember clearly, the Asari are masters of underwater fight and were able to withstand Reapers with their attack submarines on a planet. Would love to see this machines in MEA.

T'was a waste of potential, could've had some underwater combat sequence in there. That would've set the DLC apart.

OMG! Lara6668 (whatever her number is haha) she is like the best, seriously her and Kyle Landry are like the twin gods of video game music piano transcription, I'd post the video of them doing Bach together which is pretty cool but it's just so off topic lol, was seriously listening to them like all like two days ago.
Anyway saw this topic and immediately thought of water temple from Zelda as kind of a standard of water exploration, being very puzzle and precise gameplay heavy weaving the water into the game itself.
However there are many options for example contrary to the post that water automatically means less gravity if you play for example Duke Nukem you have water that basically just transforms everything into 3d space combat, which is kind of cool all things considered but kind of goofy because it doesn't respect the substance or feel of water.
There's also room for somewhere in between and by far one of the creepiest underwater bosses the sequence at the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi for N64 starring Dash Rendar where you have to fight this weird underwater cyclops mabob thing that was just so freaky like wow creepy as all get out. This also happened again in Wrath of the LIch King expansion to WoW in Borean Tundra.
But anyway my talking on and on is just to say it depends entirely on implementation you can execute a lot of different concepts, given MEs sort of weighty and heavy sci fi sort of feel and the fact that there isn't really an emphasis on puzzle solving and also as a recent example Tomb Raider Underworld would probably be the best example I've played to follow as an example, it had an interesting engagement with underwater portions for example the very beginning where you are just positioned above the whole expanse of water and water is simply treated as a moderately fast experience. Here is a video for it, underwater scene starts at 1:34.
Basically the emphasis on immersion, sparse enemies, things like that, although it still has 3D puzzle solving which might be tricky to implement in the slightly more static world of ME.
