And by qunari I mean big grey horned people, regardless of whether they follow the Qun.

I don't recall seeing any numbers in WoT or anything like that, but maybe I missed 'em. If your Inquisitor is a qunari then the Valo-Kas seems to be made up mostly of Tal-Vashoth... or just Vashoth, it's not really clear, but there are a lot of Qunlat names floating around. And there are a few qunari around Skyhold - one or two from MP, plus Bull and the Inquisitor possibly.

And Solas says there are enough qunari around that they have families (and maybe villages?) of their own, which Adaar is evidence of.

Kirkwall was crawling with Tal-Vashoth, but I'm not sure if they were all supposed to be defectors from the shipwreck or if some of them could've been from somewhere else.

So does anyone have a guesstimate of how many there are? What nations do they live in? Are they isolated or are there whole communities of qunari? How do they not get attacked all the time?

I wouldn't know. But I liked it better when they were an alien-like presence. The big unknown.

Now they're mowing their lawns and ****, down the road.

I do recall that Tal-Vashoth merchant in Awakening, plus other qunari mercs in DAO.

*shrug* I love it. Humanizing the "bad guys" is necessary unless you just want to be fighting orcs. I'd be more worried if darkspawn start throwing block parties. :P

I remember there being a crapton of qunari mercs working for the Carta.

Could only be two within the Valo-Kas company, Adaar and Shokrakar (Shoki as I call her). Would make sense for qunari/Tal-vashoth to use Qunlat words as ranks/specializations in a mercenary company. Not to mention that when talking to the Iron Bull, you can say who you recruited when he asks about how you went about forming your company, with on of the options being anybody (qunari or not).

Just saying.

They're not bad guys necessarily. I just like the alien nature previously.. if that makes sense. It was more unknown and unsettling. I don't think Southern Thedas is a good place to start introducing too much familiarity with the idea. Especially not going to ballroom dances, choosing the divine ad ruler of Orlais, and acting like dudebros. This **** is gimmicky. Not humanizing. Surprising that we didn't have a Qunari barkeep while we're at it.

Ahh, that's true. But I'm just looking for a guesstimate anyway.
