I only take shields on devastator mode when I run no-fitness.

I decided to take the extra padding because I chose the Force and Damage Evo in Rank 4 of Hawk Missile Launcher.

Hawk is not for doing damage. It's to force enemies to dodge or stagger.
I always pick maximum damage in devastator mode for Typhoon daka greatness.

As long as you take refire time, and hydra missiles, rank 4 is unimportant. Shield Penalty is considered better because most people don't want to give up shields on a front line fighter, and losing 400 shields can feel like a bad trade off to some.
Personally, the stagger (And swarmer killing!) of Hawk Missile Launcher makes it a good power, imho. Multi-frag is not bad, I just love the hydra spam. No-fitness build was quite interesting, once I get more experienced at the game, I'll definitely do it again, since I want to run a power amp for multi-frag, instead of cyclonic for shields.
Current build is 'nadeless because my wife is using it, and 'nadeless destroyer is pretty straight foreward and sturdy-ish.

Most of my PUGs prove you wrong. But maybe it's the piercing mod you have to equip as well...

i thought I found someone doing the same build as me when you said this. I use cryo rounds and adas with triple rockets. Staggers, freezes, slows, strips shields, and forces dodges. Phantoms literally do nothing but stagger around.But I use the missiles to kill frozen/chilled enemies

Full damage, no possible negotiation. He is a Destroyer, he must... destroy.
Well, it all depends on the gun. To pick a loadout for example, PPR and Venom (I doubt even you bitter old folk will deny that this is an effective loadout for him). Weapon accuracy on rank 4 devastator mode will do nothing at all, magazine size on rank 5 is FAR superior to fire rate (Which would normally by the damage spec option). I do agree on rank 6 though, 15% damage is good, even as additive, it is virtually free at that point.

I always take the shield bonus, because I feel like I need it for Slowy McNoDodge to get out of the way of things shooting at me. But I'm not as good as some people here, so maybe not everyone needs it.
