I'm thinking about playing the series again. I have reservations cause it took me (the corny part) a while  to get over the games. Not any rage due to any "ending drama" but missing the virtual characters. I know, sounds like I have no life, but I like these characters.

Playing again, is just gonna make me miss them again. But obviously I do miss them cause here I am complaining about playing again.

I play Citadel as an epilog. And the saddest part of the whole game for me is at the end, when Shepard says "The best". And they all board the ship and fly off. And I'm dreading seeing that scene again.

I'm telling you guys this, cause everyone in RL I even mention this too (even other gamers) calls me nuts. I'm assuming some of you understand.

I'm also hoping that FO4 will pull me away. So one more time - before FO4.

There are a lot of posts much more odd in these forums, so I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Just go for it :)

I finished ME3 in February this year and I was super sad after the end (though I liked it), and it stayed with me for a long time, but with a bit of headcanoning it was bearable. I replayed it 2 more times since and am currently on my 4th run. I just can't stop. And I know that when I finish, I can just start over and see the characters again until I'm sick of it.

ME gets to me like no other series, or even game (except maybe 1 or 2), like before, and I think I understand what it's like for you. The characters grew so dear to my heart in the process and every time I hit the end of Citadel DLC (I always play it before the last missions) and the night before Cronos Station I'm already sad again it's over soon. So you're not alone with this ;)

Fallout 4 will pull you away.

Grab a melee weapon and start smashing the crap out of everyone in the game making you forget about Mass, what was the other name? Oh yeah Effect. hahaha

If Fallout 4 turns out to be not that good for you, you can do a playthrough like this to take out your frustration. hahaha

Not corny at all. I feel like I've read/heard many times were people felt this emptiness when they completed the series. Like, they themselves were indeed Shepard making choices and making those connections along the way. Once it was all said and done, there was a longing to see the MEU again.

It took me a solid week to get out of the funk. That just goes to show you how Bioware's games resonate with people.

I'll hold off replaying ME until we get closer to Andromeda shipping. Still playing DA:I in the meantime to tide me over :-D

Im quite a newcomer only started last year late november... and when i managed to finish a whole trilogy run on January I was actively depressed for two weeks so you are not alone XD and well theres no guarantee you wont feel sad when its all over but just replay again to either flesh out your headcannon or to replay different choices... whats great about this game is that there is so much replay ability its hard to get bored from it, my opinion :D

Yep. That's my number one reason why I like Bioware games. The replay value

Did you find that to be as true for the DA series? I find the DA stuff to be hard to replay for the following reasons:

1) Each game seems sooooo long, only to lead to:

2) the choices in each game only effecting some cameos here and there in the next games, not the true consequences you see in the Rannoch and Tuchanka arcs; and

3) I don't have the same connection to the characters since even when they do reappear, like Varris or Leliana, they don't have the history with the protagonist that Shepard has with his/her crew. When I was Hawke I took Varris everywhere. We built up quite a rapport. When my Inquisitor hung out with him, however, that entire history was gone. There was never the same connection.

I think this is exactly why ME surpassed DA for me. I think I've mentioned it before, I love the DA series, DA:O was my first Bioware game and I still do enjoy playing them and played all of them multiple times, too, but what you say about the connection between Shepard and the characters, the choices affecting the games throughout the Trilogy in a more meaningful way is what ultimately drew me more to ME. It started out as a good and fun game for me, but damn if that wasn't the best ride I've ever been on :D

Yes. Otherwise I would've only mentioned Mass Effect

Not corny at all. Mass Effect is, in my not-so-humble-opinion, the most well done series ever. I like it better than Star Wars, then Halo, Star Trek, anything. And that's saying something.

My desktop background rotates through a bunch of pictures, some of them ME characters. When Liara (my fave love interest) shows up, my heart does a little flutter. When I see Mordin, I get a happy-sad feeling. Wrex and James make me grin, and Garrus just warms my heart for the best bromance ever (I play male-shep. And if it helps, I've completed eight play-throughs. I did one for each class, and then two more for a fun. I suspect #9 is coming in a year or two). Heck, even Aria and Nyreen have a special place in my heart. And am I the only person who's broken-hearted that I can't find a 2016 Mass Effect wall calendar anywhere? I'm sitting here looking at Javik on my ME wall calendar here on N7 Day (happy N7 day, by the way, all!).

So not corny. It's a great game with all kinds of good going for it. Heck, my wife and I use ME lines to one another all the time. She's a biochemist, and she loved Mordin (one of a few times in the series when we cried was his death). And I often tell her about being my wife: "It had to be you. Someone else might have gotten it wrong."

Play on, friends!

Oh, you have to play it again. It's almost required.

The letdown of reaching the end is more than made up for by the highs along the way...

Another "Not corny".

The characters are one of the biggest strength of these games. But yeah, if you're preparing to play Fall Out 4 you might want to keep replaying Mass Effect to dampen the Fall Out 4 withdrawal (and then, should it be good enough you could play Fall Out 4 again once you finish the ME trilogy to dampen the ME withdrawal).

Yeah I finished ME3 twice. First with the original endings and 2nd with the extended cut endings. I'm playing Mass Effect 2 and I'm getting all those memories back. I really love this trilogy, and playing ME3 a third time will probably make me tear up again. No form of media has ever made me feel that way.

Don't know what you guys are talking about with FO4 withdrawal, i finished my first run through of it a week ago.

Know what my first thought was? ---------------------Time for mass effect run number 4 = I am addicted to the characters, esp in ME2 - I loved that giant 12 man squad or badasses. -- Miranda, best LI and Garrus, best bromance.

I just finished ME1 keeping Kaidan alive and romancing Liara for the first time - but I will reeeeeeeeaaaaaallllllly struggle to hold off romancing Miranda in ME2.

I just finished my latest ME-Runthrough a few days ago and I can tell you, that I feel the same. It's like having a dream and then you suddenly wake up and realize that it wasn't real :/

I just wish they would continue the story of shepard in some way. I know that many wouldn't like that at all, but I'd like to see what happens afterwards. I took the destroy/survive ending by the way :)

Well FO4 is done. For now. It BADLY needs mods. And in 6 months or so I'll take another look.,

And I did not play ME series before FO4. But I am starting it again now. ME1 first. This time I'm gonna play the gay play through. There's a hacked version of ME1 that allows you to have a relationship with Kaidan. And ME2 it doesn't make a difference and in ME3 the dialogs are there.

I had relationships with all the females. Time for the men. Garrus, I'll have to run as Femshep.

You said FO4 will pull the original poster away from ME. I am saying that effect will last until they hear Garrus' voice from one of the NPCs in FO4, which will result in being pulled back to ME.

I've been playing SW The Old Republic almost daily to maximize my sub time and trust me... the withdrawal is real and its punishing.

In that game, you will meet a LOT of familiar people... FemShep. Grunt. Jack. Kai Leng. Javik. (and not to mention a LOT of Dragon Age people) and a lot of characterization and storyline that have shared similarities with Mass Effect. But while the gameplay in general is familiar if you play Dragon Age but it was painful to play as a Sniper. Sooo faceroll easy and OP.

My god, I miss everything and everyone. Everything is so watered down. It wasn't immersive since it is MMO. The story feels a bit distant since your character was supposed to be a blankslate character (Voice actors are wonderful tho). I hate that I need to pay for effing reskin and texture. I miss the companion banters. The weapons. I miss my precise headshots. I even miss seeing Kaidan's fascination for Shepard's boobs. Seriously, the romance suck...

If it wasn't for the $30 I spent, I would have gone back sooner. Thankfully, my sub ended. And I'm free to start Mass Effect 2 until I resub for the next chapter for the Knights of the Fallen Empire (which is really Mass Effect 2 in its essence.. its like they have a template for everything)

Yet another "not corny" post. I share IndianaJonesYay's opinion of Mass Effect. :)

While it's hard to argue against Shamus Young's retrospective of Mass Effect and all the flaws of the trilogy, I still love playing it. I'm on trilogy run number 18 at the moment. The characters and voice acting work very well for me.
