I have an issue with the fact that apparently, the Keep makes being friends with Vivienne and giving her the actual snowy wyvern's heart mutually exclusive? In all my playthroughs, I have NEVER been friends with Vivienne (my choices just always garner her disapproval), but I always gave her the actual snowy wyvern's heart, so the fact that the Keep apparently thinks that I can't give her the snowy wyvern's heart without being her BFF is ridiculous.

I get the impression that in giving her the heart of the snowy wyvern, it cements their relationship as friendly enough to fall under the category of 'earned her friendship.' You may not raise her approval up enough to get her to discuss becoming Divine with you, but in doing this thing for her, it's enough of to get her friendly, as opposed to explicitly antagonistic.
This is pretty spot on. Regardless of whether you were friendly or not with Vivienne before - if you give her a real Snowy Wyvern heart, all the "friends" dialogue options in the game open up for the remainder of your interactions with her.
