I've played this game a long time, but Ive never understood how Berserk and Reaver "work."

Many of you are experts at gameplay, so would one of you mind explaining (like you would to a four-year-old as Denzel would say) how these two things work in the game.

Could you also explain how you would build a warrior to make effective use of the Reaver specialty and the Berserk function?

1. What armor, which weapons, which fights, party makeup, etc.

If you wouldn't mind being a teacher for a few minutes, I'd love to learn how you use these skills.  Thanks.

Seriously, is it like Hearts?  You "lose" to win?

And what about Sigils?  Are any of those worth the penalty? Which ones do you use on whom and why.  I"d really like to learn if anyone has the time to explain.

Probably should ask about Sigils in a separate thread. Or start here:

For Reaver, I'm not sure what you are asking? Just about the Berserk fade-touched material and what it does, which applies to any class, or about the Reaver specialization?

Briefly, the Reaver specialization is a warrior specialization where, in general, you trade off your health for increased damage. That's about it. There is a skill in Reaver, Devour, that lets you regain health through an attack. Everything else gets a damage increase for some percentage of health below max. So if you are 50% below your max health, you get a 50% bonus to damage. One of the skills, Dragon Rage, actually reduces your health with each usage.

Berserk fade-touched material effect is kind of along the same lines, trading off more damage for less health. Just like it says, you get bonus to damage, like +10%, but you also take more damage, +100% means double damage. So if you are hit for 50, you take 100.

Thank you so much for the information. I figured it was something like this. I think I'll stick to getting so much guard on my warriors they're pretty much immortal. I'm sure someone out there plays is well, but it sounds like something you really have to babysit to do right.
