Ah you have the old stuff too eh? I also have my NES, SNES, PS, N64 and many others along with my old games. However PC games are not quite the same anymore and sometimes it's best to download them online, especially like what happened to me with my DAO game.

Yeah I hoard my video games. My 25 year old cousin lives in my basement and he has a $3000 gaming rig. He's always bugging me to build one. I have no interest in PC gaming. I don't want to spend that kind of money on a PC. I know I don't have to spend that kind of money for one but I don't like to do anything half ass. If I were to do it I'm going all the way. Just like games I want the most out of things for my money. I don't want to deal with steam or anything like that. I like going to the store and walking out with games in my hands. I like putting games on my shelf and admiring my collection. I've put a lot of effort into it over the years. My SNES and Turbografx collection is worth a goldmine.

I know how you feel. It's like having your own treasure trove of memories. I only download for the PC, but for my other systems it's always a disc. I even have all my old game books and player guides. Sadly the world is changing and us old timers won't get to really enjoy it like we did before. My uncle is working on building me a computer to handle all the new games coming out for the PC. He's into all that computer stuff.

You'll have to stop buying games soon then. It's just the natural order of technological development. One storage medium gets replaced by another and with it changes the method of content delivery. It's also MUCH cheaper for a company to release things digital only instead of paying for the disc and packaging production process (better for the environment too) I doubt they'll get rid of physical CE anytime soon though, people love those.

I haven't lost all faith in gaming and no I don't think digital will totally take over. Some developers know what people want and will give it to us. If it gets to a point I can't stand any more I'll just bow out and go retro only.

How old do you have to be to be an old-timer? I'm 51 and I ran away from discs the moment I had decent broadband. What's the point of putting bits in a box?

Lol I used it jokingly. I'm only 32 but I love games so I will always adapt to enjoy them, especially DA, ME, The Sims, SWTOR and The Witcher!

I'm 38 when Microsoft announced the Xbox One gamers revolted over digital only and drm. 80% of all game sales are still physical releases. DLC and microtransactios are nothing more but extortion tactics to try and squeeze money out of us. If they can't give me a complete experience out of the box I'll take my money elsewhere. Hows that for leaving money on the table.

I'm sure they'll miss you. But yeah, it's mostly PC gamers who are ready to give up on discs. Probably because even if we were willing to put up with the inefficiency of travelling to a store, there aren't very many stores with decent PC game selections anymore.

If DLC is extortion then extort me more! I just finished Trespasser last night a second time =) And I am ready for more today.
