My friend bought Mass Effect 3 a physical copy just to play the multiplayer with me. We cannot play together and we have looked everywhere

She has tried downloading it from origin by clicking the i next to her game copy, she gets an error message when clicking to get the free multiplayer dlc. She has tried getting it from the Bioware Social site, but she clicks on buy, then on PC, then it just goes blank. I have suggested she uninstall the game and download it onto her computer through origin, but she hasn't tried it yet. I may be thinking of how Steam works instead of origin with this last thing. Does anyone know how to get past this and not make it so she wasted her money????

Not a solution to her problem but have you considered uninstalling your multiplayer DLC?

That way you both will be able to game together on the regular maps.

Well actually it turns out she bought it as a disk but downloaded it instead. So maybe because it is a disk copy it needs disk installation to activate properly? She is pretty burnt out about the game we've spent hours over days trying to get it to work.

It shouldn't make a difference whether the game was installed from disc or downloaded as long as the key is valid.

What error message is she getting?
