Ready your omni-tool, throw on your N7 gear, and get ready for a trip to the Citadel, because N7 Day is just through the next Mass Relay. This Saturday, November 7th, we’re celebrating the Mass Effect Trilogy with a marathon Extra Life livestream, giveaways, and awesome deals on Mass Effect merch. And while we won’t have any major announcements for Mass Effect: Andromeda this N7 Day,

Surely they wouldn't let N7 day go past without something...., surely they aren't that silly to alienate their fans.., are they??

Cheers

To address the foolish notions of 'give us MEA trailers / information' etc. on N7 day.

The game is still a year away.

Personally I think it was pretty dumb to announce the game at E3 with 18 months to go.

Remember the arguments the Crestwood demo caused?

Fan service is irrelevant, 100% of focus should be on making a terrific MEA.

I'll enjoy whatever fun thing commemorates N7 day but the first I expect to hear from MEA is E3 2016.

Let more studios do what Bethesda did, which is have a limited 5 month launch (not 2.5 years !)

A long launch does not increase anticipation it increases fatigue in my opinion.

That's not entirely true, they did say "some surprises."

No news are good news.

or to be fair:

No news if they really aren't ready to show anything is good news.

But given that they're saving it for PSX or VGAs when all the eyes of the public are on them, that's kind of scary. They'll try to make the game appealing to douchebros again, most likely by making it "EPIC" or promoting it as a shooter or "OPEN-WORLD EXPERIENCE"

I fully expect the game to be terrible again (like ME2 and ME3). I'm following MEA more as a spectator sport than as a fan.

Please don't tell me you are one of those people who think ME1 was the best in the series? I know opinions are subjective and all but I am curious to hear what made the first game so great?

You do get that people like different things?

ME1 allowed a lot more agency in defining your Shepard and it was stat based as opposed to player skill based which some prefer. I actually find that to be he defining characteristic of a RPG because it's the only way you are truly playing the role.

The freedom. The Mako. The tactical options. The stat-based aiming. That we could equip armour on our companions.

It was just more like an RPG.

It wasn't a particularly good RPG, but it wasn't the dumpster fire we saw in the next two.

Pre-sale.

Eighty five bucks plus at least half of it if shipped outside of US.

Yea, I'd rather go for presale of N7 tech jacket, but it's... Minor stuff I guess: http://www.biowarest...ech-jacket.html

Older stuff (not just ME but also DA) got -20% discount:

No major announcements, what about minor annoucements? Maybe the names of a couple of planets or systems, confirming the leak perhaps which IMO wouldn't be that major.

For once I agree with you. Bioware is bad for overracting to things. We never said we didnt like the Mako, we just said we hates the mountainous terrain that we had to use it on as well as the uncharted worlds being boring.

So instead of making the terrain better and adding life and better aspects to the UC worlds, they just cut it all together.

We never said we hated having an inventory, just that we wanted one that wasnt a chore to use like in ME1. Instead of fixing it they just cut it all together.

It is clear that Bioware is marketing Mass Effect as a Shooter with RPG elements instead of a RPG with shooter elements.

Depends on who the "we" are. I didn't think that the whole UNC concept made sense given the plot of the game. And since I'm coming in on a shuttle, why can't I land near where I'm going the way I do in ME2 and ME3.

Same thing for inventory. I'm no fan of the way the CRPG genre has handled this issue; my favorite PnP systems have minimal inventory and loot, especially in SF settings.

And yet I can play all three games as a pure RPG with no shooter content at all.

List inventories with no weight or volume limit have never been good.

I still like NWN's inventory system. Also Wizardry 8 - that's the only shared party inventory I've ever liked.
