Doesn't seem to do it for me, you sure? Can anyone confirm or debunk? Was also wondering if you upgrade whirlwind does it also increase your basic attack damage per spin?

Can confirm that the ww auto-attack does not benefit from ww upgrade. It even has a different sound than the ww skill, so I think they are completely different.

I have had it for some time. Tried it on my Katari. Went up againts the Spawn in NM with it. I was not impressed. Looks cool to twril around constantly. Back to the Hakkon. Thats all I have to say about that. Ala' - Gump.

The damage output is a lot less than a Hakkon great sword, sure, but I've been appreciating some aspects that I hadn't considered. As Spacemonkey mentioned, the ax on Katari generates guard really fast when hitting lots of enemies giving it tanking advantages, and on Avvar, the ax regenerates stamina really quickly which helps with those times when you are starved for stamina (especially with the PI replacing a stamina amulet) and can't pull off abilities as soon as they come off cool down.

It's the best lvl 26 weapon and the dmg is pretty high more so than valor (328 aoe vs 324 aoe). It doesn't have the valor proc and 100 crit dmg bonus. Overall, a pretty fun weapon to use.
