I will kill Solas in Dragon Age 4, not because I want to, not because I hate him, but because I have to. His path is the path of madness and genocide, and I will not allow the non elven races of Thedas to suffer and die for the sake of the elves. Solas has to be stopped, even if that means killing him.

Does anyone else plan to kill him?

Being the biggest culprit of standing in the dragon's fire breath and dying, i'd say you have no worries of him destroying or killing anything, he almost drops dead if he stubs his toe going down a hill

Okay.

I share your reaction, lethallan. This Shem has no idea of the Vir Elvhen.

I don't think so, actually.

Well, this Shem's going to do everything to save his idiot arrogant ass, because in another life, he was my friend. And you do this kind of thing for friends, even if they are being massively unwise.

As for sourse, Serza, I think it's the poster's imagination.

If I had my way, I'd imprison Solas somehow, seal him away from the world, perhaps in the same way he imprisoned the Evanuris.  If sending him for a dirt nap is an option on the next game I'll give it a try, though I'd bet the farm it'll be like killing Corypheus or Flemeth.  My wager is that he knows some secret to immortality ;)

I'm glad you approve, Serza :)

I've done extremely crazy things to help rl friends so game one should be easy.

Of course none of my rl friends wanted to do things that would destroy the world, but it's not really a matter of scale.

Solas does seem to suffee from a trait I notice given to a lot of immortal or close to immortal characters. They don't do change very well. Solas is better than most, but even after seeing his friend or lover as a person he can't quite make the jump which extends equal worth to all races of Thedas.

So I do think Bioware will give us the option to redeem him, but it's going to take a kind word and a 2x4, rather than just a kind word.

Damn them for making my like him so much!

I'm pretty mad at Solas too but my first choice won't be to kill him. Hopefully killing Solas won't be our only way to stop him.

I hope to convince him that he is wrong.  I mean yes kill him if you can but I think at this point he is darn near unkillable.  Maybe not entirely unkillable but he is a being with tremendous power now at his control.  Maybe including three entites who have been called gods.  The logistics of killing him will be darn near impossible to kill off.

True, how do you fight, or kill, someone who can turn you to stone instantly?

A few of my Inkys absolutely do, but a few want to try to save their friend.  If you're interested in the views of the man behind the curtain, well I'd like to be able to have Bones quote me his most memorable line.

No plans to kill him and will be very annoyed if the game railroads me into it.  Not only do I like Solas but I think killing him goes aganist every theme of Inquisition.  The entire game is about redemption and second chances (and it's recurring theme throughout the Inner Circle quests.)  Honestly, Solas is running on the same sort of morality that the player characters (and and the players) run on.  He has a quest to do, and he's going to complete it.  If Solas was the player character then we wouldn't even think twice about doing what he's doing.  Does this make what he's doing right?  No.  Will I stop him?  Yes.  Will I kill him?  No.

EDIT: That goes for my canon Lavellan only.  My Assquisitor Cadash is likely to murderknife at the first oppertunity, and my Adaar and Trevelyan I'm still unsure about.

Ambush him, mousetrap him. He may be close to immortal, but he's not omniscient nor is he omnipotent. The fact he is an arrogant idiot, will probably play in favor of that. Everyone has a weakness.

I'd rather hit him over the head until he comes to his senses, but if it comes to a last sanction situation, it's going to be akin to finding Corypheus' weakness, but probably a lot more convoluted

My Inquisitor won't need to kill him. His plan will fail in any case, but I believe my Inquisitor is smart enough to stop him. Especially true if the Hero and Champion return. And the new protag from Tevinter can only be a help.

My Inquisitor knows what Solas wants to do. And like G.I. Joe says, "Knowing is half the battle."

Legionnaire Scout.

There are quite a few beings capable of rivaling Solas.

Valta and her titan, for starters. The two remaining old gods. The evanuris. Morrigan or Flemeth, possibly. The Hero of Ferelden, obviously. The taint.
