I know that Ice doesn't really work on NM, but OP asked how/what worked on them, without saying on which difficulty. So I assumed he talked about them in general, not specific NM.

And I understand that.  You responded to his post that ice was not good with what appeared to be an attempt to refute his statement.  I just wanted to clarify the context of his statement.

Personally, I see no reason not to use Winters Grasp or Athlok finisher on them, as well as other Qunari who are resistant to ice.  Under Nightmare difficulty, they can still do reasonable damage.  Even on Nightmare they can be useful, even if for nothing more than CC.

I don't know, I went Qunari farming today with my Saarebas and Athlok-Detonation worked great on the Spearmen.

Do you see on how the same screenshot you do double cold damage against the non-spearman. On the lower left corner it is 1377 vs your 623-861. It is because Spear are cold resist.

Vs mixed units AB is still wonderful, but against only Spear other elements are better (if you're trying to kill them). Same for WG, don't bother. If you're trying to CC them so your allies can kill, it is a different story --- but I don't see any allies in these screenshots.

No, there are no allies in the screenshot, because I was solo farming Qunari kills.

Also I don't use the ice to kill them, it goes pretty much like this:

Opening stance of Asaara's Leap into a group of Qunari, Flow stance of Athlok Blast to pull them close and shock them, Finishing stance to freeze them, Opening stance to shatter them.

May not be the fastest way to kill them, but it works for me.

I like to spam AB too, but FYI for spawn farming you'll want to get away from the spawn locations.

You'll also quickly learn in NM and above how wasteful it is to do 1 damage over and over to enemies that could otherwise be dying when wasting damage vs elemental immune enemies.

Where did I say I wouldn't go away from spawn locations?  I don't just stand there and spam AB. I zip there with AL, kill them, zip away to another group.

I play different on NM then I do on Peri and below. Also:

1. Those pictures are from Threatening.

2. I never said this was a good strategy for NM, the point in my first post here was, that AB gets around the block of Qunari Spearmen, which it does.

LOL it isn't always about you. Lots of people watch this thread, and your pictures showed the wrong thing to do for farming.

No it isn't, also this Thread isn't about farming, it is about "How to fight Qunari Spearmen as ranged" and

Other people, other tactics.

And with this I excuse myself from this Thread, because I don't want it to go even more off topic.
