I headcanon that the bedroom connected to the top floor of the tavern - the one with smashed stuff all over it and an axe buried in the bed - is Iron Bull's room. I haven't seen any of his romance scenes ... but this seems too perfect not to be true.

Hmm most of my headcanon's are mostly about my character's origins/epilogues.

My mage Trevelyan was actually an underachieving bitter mage until the Temple exploded. He pretty much went through the motions and abused his name to get a few extra perks and whatnot at the Circle. He earned a lot of jealousy and disdain from peers. He had only one real friend in his life until Inquisition, she was the daughter of a peasant that worked in his father's kitchens. She was taken to the Circle a year before he developed his magic. She looked out for him at the Circle often making sure he kept up in his studies and out of fights with other students. She was a very talented young mage and had extreme loyalty to the Trevelyan family.

When the Circles fell she led and protected a peaceful group of mages through the Ostwick rebellion, and eventually saw the Conclave as a possible place of safety and peace for her group. Trevelyan originally suggested the two of them just run back to his father's lands and live 'off the grid' until all this blows over, but she refused and called him a coward for suggesting such. Trevelyan decided to tag along with her and the group under the premise of repaying his 'debts' to her, but the truth was he admired her greatly and loved her.

They arrive at the Conclave, stuff goes boom, and Trevelyan is left wondering why he was 'chosen' and not her if there was a Maker at all. Trevelyan vows to avenge her and starts to take his magic serious, and doesn't shy away from leadership. He also grows a disdain for nobility as they remind him of his selfish and bitter old self, and takes the extra steps to see the common folk and helpless are not left behind as she would.

Headcanon: After the events of the Divine Counsel at the Winter Palace, Inquisitor Cadash first show's off his worth as a bodyguard when during an assassination attempt  on Divine Leliana forms a " Dragon's Rage " spectral claw over his lost arm to split the assassin in twain. It is said that he still has that arm to this day. Cassandra . . . doesn't know how to react. Varric approves greatly.

In my headcanon universe...

- Cullen has a thing for exotic-looking female elven mages. (My Surana is Rivaini-descended, and my Cullenmancing Lavellan is an Albino Dalish.)

- Leliana and Josephine gave my Lavellan etiquette lessons leading up to the Orlesian Ball, but she eventually started hiding from the lessons because a) they were getting too long and intensive, and b ) she was rather proud of her status as a "Dalish savage." Eventually they had to pull out the big guns, Vivienne, who helped my Lavellan master "The Game" by teaching her how to channel her seething hatred for Vivienne into icy politeness and delicate little backhanded compliments.

- My Lavellan was so nervous during the Orlesian ball that she walked over to Solas' secluded little corner, threw up in a potted plant next to him, then stood up straight, smoothed out her outfit, and walked back into the Game calm as you please.

- By the time they got to Skyhold, my female Qunari warrior was no longer allowed to spar with the Inquisition soldiers because she literally headbutts and shield-bashes the stuffing out of everything. The recruits still audibly gulp every time they see the training dummies and straw bales literally explode on impact. (She doesn't hurt or scare them on purpose, she just grew up sparing and fighting with fellow vashoth mercenaries, and still isn't used to how delicate humans are.)

- Josephine and my Adaar made sweet love after the first time they confessed their love, then had hot passionate sex after my Adaar got rescued by Josephine "defeated Josephine's fiance."

- When Josephine sees my female Adaar sparing or fighting, she sees a tall, gallant, stalwart, courtly knight in shining armor bravely felling (or training to someday bravely fell) Andraste's enemies. When Cullen and the poor recruits look at her, they see a huge, bulky, sweaty, snorting, ferocious minotaur from hell, with fire in her eyes, smoke coming out of her nostrils, and some poor training dummy's straw entrails (and thus some imaginary enemy's bloody entrails) on her shield.

I've got more, but honestly, I think those are the only ones anyone might find even mildly interesting.

I've head-canoned many things, mostly the backstory of the Inquisitors I created. But a non-Inquisitor thing is that I headcanon that Connor escapes with a few of the mages from Redcliffe when the Bull's Chargers do the mission (after all, I went to Thereinfall).

I headcanon that my warrior HN Inquisitor was a big Cassandra fanboy growing up :P He'd heard tales of the Hero of Orlais and was enamored, though he'd never show it outwardly for fear of others (*coughLelianacough*) using it for blackmail material.

I headcount that My Male Mage Lavellen had the biggest crush on Morrigan. He thinks Morrigan sounds awesome, and doesn't care that the story was the lover story between the Prince Consort of Ferelden and his mistress, Morrigan. He probaly had like a bit of stalkrrish thing going on, honestly.

When he met Cassandra, fireworks stared going off in his mind. He likes females with domanting personalities! He didn't like any of the romantic LI's in DA2 though. Besides maybe for Merill and Isabela, and Merrill he thought was weak. He liked Isabela for looks alone.

*He was raised as the eldest son of the Dalish Mage Nadia Lavellen, who married a Dalish Hunter Gavin Lavellen, who was a city born elf. He took after his mother, with a domanting and intelligent personality. He was raised around other elves, but took a liking to a young human woman with long, black hair and blue eyes. She was a daughter of a wealthy lord, so she didn't even notice him, which he was fine with. He only amired her from a far anyhow in the village, when they were doing business with her father,

She soon left the village to a private school, to which he never saw her agian. He soon began dating a The Third of his tribe, a young, but slightly insane young woman, she had strawberry blonde wavy blonde hair and emerald green eyes with a cheeky smile. She and him went out for a long time(about two years, until he was 17 years old, and she was 16 years old).

Those years were happy but he felt like he was dating a little sister nevertheless, she so... Complacent and lovely towards him, he couldn't just break up with her otherwise he'd break her heart. She had a hot tempter when angered, and she could remain angry for days or even weeks at a person. Eventually, after two years of dating, she broke up with him because she could tell he didn't love her, not like she loved him. He felt slightly guilty after that, and soon he realized that Summer was pregnant (Summer is the Third). With his child.

He tried to prepare himself for the babies arrival, trying to care for Summer and all, but she soon gave birth to a girl, with dark brown hair and emerald colored eyes just like her mother's. But Summer was driven with deep intense fear of the girl being taken away. She gave the girl the name 'Lily', but sadly Lily was a Mage, so she was wisked away to another Clan. Summer committed suicide once that occured, but Artemis refused to, despite feeling sad himself. He recovered rather quickly though, and decided love wasn't for him for a long time, although he really very much like the tails of the Raven haired witch of Wilds. He eventually found his daughter, as a five year old girl, she has long, straight dark brown colored hair and a freckled face.

Lily was a bright and ingelllent child, with a devopling sense of humour and a cheeky attuide. She didn't regonise at him first, but soon realized he looked a bit like herself... And soon he was delvoping a relationship with her, until 4 years later, when he was sent to the Conclave by his Keeper, who thought this could his only chance of getting love back into his life... She couldn't be more right.

I really liked the backstory of your character, especially since it have some similarities to the background I constructed for my mage Trevelyan. In my case I made his first love be an idealist mage who view magic with great hope but sadly became a tranquil at her own request after realizing she was not strong enough to control her magic, devastating my Trevelyan in the process. She was later transferred (At my character's request) to Ferelden where my Inquisitor would discover her as a failed ocularum. He also did have privileges as a Trevelyan in the circle which made him unpopular with the other mages and templars, but this was only his family  keeping appearances with the Chantry (Which I headcannon that in Ostwick they are as pious as family oriented). In reality his father was quite bitter and harbor great resentment toward my character since the discovery of his powers came with a great loss; My Trev accidentally killed his older brother with a lightning bolt causing his father to enter a fit of rage that almost prevented him from reaching the Circle of Ostwick alive. With these incidents my Trevelyan acquired a distaste for magic that ironically contradicts his natural talent for it. Luckily for him Enchanter Lydia push him to do better until she was killed by his libertarian friend (One of the few he had. The others being Templars). At this point he was also set on leaving the circle and become a hermit far away from trouble but his bully/frenemy convinced him to stay by accusing him of betraying the memory of his mentor. Trying to honor the deaths of the people he loved and lost my Trev traveled to Haven.  Then the game happen. Yay for him :D

I always worry about how many people the inquisitor kills, especially in the beginning of the game (solving the templar- mage conflict in the hinterlands? Kill everyone on both sides!) when my inquisitor's only experience with fighting has been hunting with a bow and arrow. I imagine that it must be taking a toll on her somehow.

This headcanon goes off of the Trespasser DLC, so I'm putting it under a spoiler just in case!

Spoiler

Kind of a theory but I also consider it a headcanon for my male mage elf.

I love these ideas!

Most of my headcanons are defined for my Inquisitor's backstory.

- This specific Lavellan is city-born, and joined the clan in his teens with his parents

- He was sent to the Conclave because he was expandable (not the best hunter since he had less time to learn, and not well-integrated in the clan)

- If he hadn't met Cassandra, he would have joined the Grey Wardens

- He has human relatives (his elven mother remarried with a human and had other children), so he is used to be in human-dominated places.

- Josie and Leliana taught him to dance for the Orlesian ball, and he absolutely loved it. He now takes every opportunity he can to wazl with Dorian.

Also :

- A non-romanced Lavellan and Solas develop more of a father-son/daughter relationship.

- The Inquisitor can't read (at least at the begining of the game)

- When Lavellan asks Morrigan who Mythal is, they know the answer but want to test her knowledge in a passive-agressive way.

That my Artificer Trevelyan built a friggin' crossbow--though, that's something I've already sad a lot.

After the conversation in which my Trevelyan urged Dagna to get to the point through her enthusiasm over arcane studies, she turned around and apologized for her temporary bad mood, and proceeded to express her normal degree of mutual enthusiasm for the subject.

That Dorian and Cullen build an enduring, long term friendship and stay in contact long after the events of Inquisition. I get why some people like the ship them, but platonic affection between characters doesn't get enough appreciation, imo.

That Vivienne had some lovely new armor made for my Inquisitor to wear sometimes, especially in front of the troops and the public. It's shinier than anything in game, and it has a long cloak.

I like your city elf origin idea. I never liked the Dalish, but somehow I never managed to headcanon my Lavellan's way out of that. Instead I just imagined her a contrarian closet atheist and reluctant Keeper's first. "Heck yeah, you can take my vallaslin away. I knew that was a bunch of halla crap all along!"

Also the illiterate inquisitor is an interesting touch.

My Lavellan was city-born too, though she joined the Dalish with her parents as a kid rather than a teenager.

This is partly because Lavellan has the vallaslin and is socially part of the clan no matter what. (Either as the first or the main hunter whom they primarily rely on for food.) While I think the Dalish can be much more accepting than most people give them credit for (especially Clan Lavellan, who willingly stay in a city-state that's actively trying to kill them to protect the city elves if you get far enough in the Dalish PC-only war table missions), I don't see them bestowing vallaslin, a sacred rite of passage for Dalish, on a city elf who just recently joined their clan, hasn't integrated into their culture, and whom they see as "expendable."  :?

Inquisitor headcanons:

-The house Varric offers the Inquisitor is Fenris' old Hightown mansion. When she goes to stay for the first time, the first thing she has to do is clear a load of bizzarely-preserved corpses out of the house. Luckily, she has dealt with weirder things as Inquisitor. Sometimes she pops over to Hawke's house to visit the dog. Not so much Hawke herself, since Hawke is so grumpy and rude.

-My main Inky, Rhiannon Lavellan, was prepped for the Winter Palace by Leliana, Viv and Josie. Leliana was the one who taught her to dance. Rhiannon hated it, but was determined to learn so that she and Sera could dance at the palace. They get halfway through their dance on the balcony, when they fall over and end up in a pile on the floor.

-The Inquisitor invited Rhys and Evangeline to Skyhold eventually, where they were reunited with Cole. There were many hugs, almost as many tears, and they all lived happily ever after.  ^_^

-Lavellan wrote a book on elven revelations, so that everyone would discover the truth (whether or not they believe it). Merrill gets a copy (no ' one more thing to hide from Daisy', Varric!).

-Elariel Lavellan was the clan's lead hunter, trap-maker and ranger. After becoming an Artificer She loves inventing things to keep her mind busy. She also explores the mountains around Skyhold. After Elariel's clan dies, Solas weaves a happy dream of them to help her sleep through the first night.

-Nico Cadash's family was casteless in Orzammar, but her mother brought her to the surface as a baby. Nico had her own face branded in recognition. She becomes inspired by Paragon Brosca and becomes Andrastian in the hope of becoming a bettter person.

-Zidane Trevelyan's idol in life is Vivienne. He hoped to copy her example and rise through the Circle to become powerful and important. His family didn't go to visit him until he passed his Harrowing, because they thought he might 'spontaneously turn into a demon'. When he collapsed in the snow after the fall of Haven, Cassandra was the one to carry him back to camp.

-After meeting Josephine's family, Anjali Adaar proposes to her. Well... after 'rescuing' Yvette from pirates that have some strange connection to Isabela...

Others:

-After Trespasser, spirit Cole joins Rainier in visiting prisons around Thedas, bringing comfort and hope to the people there.

-Vivienne and Dorian got really competitive about who would have the best outfit for the Winter Palace. It got so ridiculous that Cullen eventually put his foot down and declared that everyone would go in a standard uniform. In revenge, Viv and Dorian spend the evening encouraging suitors to go chat him up.

-Bull once asked Sera if she would like to 'ride the bull'. The end result was Sera sat on Bull's shoulders, while he happily rampaged around the Herald's Rest, completely drunk. Josephine had to requisition new furniture for the whole place, and banned both of them from the tavern for a week.

More random headcanons:

- In my "canon" worldstate, during the three year time skip between Hawke being named Champion of Kirkwall and Anders blowing up the Chantry, my City Elf Warden visited Kirkwall to help escort some rescued Denerim elves (the ones Loghain sold into slavery) cross the Waking Sea back to Ferelden. She illegally contacted thieves and assassin's guilds to find them in Tevinter and bring them home because Queen Anora didn't give two shits, and in so doing attracted the attention of slave-hunters who dogged their every steps. While in Kirkwall, she paid a visit to her old best friend Anders (the two had been BESTIES in DAA) and met Hawke's companions. She also enlisted Anders' and Fenris' help to keep slave-hunters off their backs while she got the freed slaves on the ship, and a small adventure ensued.

Unfortunately, this snapped Anders out of his funk and got him back into the "I need to do more to help the oppressed!" mentality, which eventually spurred him to blow up the Chantry.

- In an alternate universe, my Surana visited Kirkwall during the end of the three-year time skip between Hawke being crowned Champion of Kirwall and Anders blowing up the Chantry, because she was to meet up and help Zevran with some Crow business up North. While there, she ran into Cullen. They talked very briefly (mostly her, as he was too flustered by her presence), but in her own calm and seemingly detached way she called him out on his tyranny of mages ("So, how's the Tranquil Solution going?"), and brought up old times. "Remember when I asked if you would have slayed me in the Harrowing, and you said you would have, but would have felt terrible about it? But of course you would have, because it's the Maker's Will. That's the difference between you and I. You do what you know are terrible things in this life hoping some Spirit in the Great Beyond will reward you in the next life... but my loyalty is to those already here. I help those in the here and now find a better life (Jowan, Zevran), and I sleep just fine." Soon Zevran arrived and they left.

I headcanon that Cullen was obviously too angry and conflicted at the time, but what she said slowly sank in, and eventually spurred him to turn against Meredith in the final battle, and then to become disillusioned with and leave the Templars. (I know he does anyway, but that's just what I headcanon in that worldstate.)

Another of my headcanon prior to WEWH, that it was Viviene who teaches my Inqui how to dance, wear stiletoes, proper table manners and how to freeze solid the nobles with words and not spells
Josephine teaching my Elven lass about human history and gaining a sense to understanding their lore and Leliana gives me info on who's who and background knowledge/secrets people desperately trying to keep a lid on.

At first Leliana, Josie and Viviene designed a specially beautiful dress for the Inquisitor with matching high heels to wow the crowd.
But the shoes hurts my Lavellan's feet to no end and Viviene felt sorry (instead of being amused) so she canceled out the whole thing and opted for everyone to just wear military uniform (even if that means agreeing with Sera and she has to wear that 'ugly suit' herself as well <3) admitedly, this head canon has made me like Viviene a lot more :D

Edit: grammar/typos

More headcounts about Artemis Lavellen (yes, that one elven Mage I can't make quite correctly)

*He was born in the middle of spring at 10:30 AM. And it was in one of the Arvels.

*He is the eldest of two, but he hasn't changed his ways unlike Artemis Fowl, he has 0 interest in it.

*He was always a cheeky, troublesome young man. As a teenager, he often caused quite a sit amongst the hunters, he would often enchant there stuff to miss everything (it was a temporary rune, it only missed one shot and he made sure it was the most arrogant Hunter that got it.)

*He was raised and born as a Dalish. Although many of his closet friends were City elves. His first girlfriend was a city elf actually. He prefers the company of city elves of his own kin actually, because they are hard working people and they get nothing out of it. He admires people who work hard and don't complain. He feels the Dalish are also like that, but are too stuck in there ways. He is pratical in his beliefs that the Dalish need to look to the future instead of the past, and he knows this as a Keepers first.

*He was 14 years old when he got his fist girlfriend, a childhood friend of his, a young City elf named Felica Tabris (I image they went to Denrim at one point...) But it was short lived as he get moving with the rest of the Dalish. However, four years later he heard that she was dead, raped by a Shem lord. He was frugally sad to hear men could be that bad, though he believes any race is capable of such horrors, not just humans. Elf alike can be horrors to others. He hates elfs that hate humans. He believes them native and stupid.

*He first kiss was a Miss Selene Mahriel. Thought they had a platonical friendship, she used him as a kissing doll instead of Talem for once. Selene was native, and was looking for love, thought Artemis wasn't interested in her that way, he was sure happy to be used by her. Selene ended up dying of the taint also four years later. This was a week before he met Felica.

* His first time yesh I know, too much info, was a elven Circle Mage named Fiona Surana. Surana was a traveling young Mage from the Ostwick circle of Magi (not an AU, more like I believe my Surana went somewhere else while my Amell always went to Kinloch Hold). She was a eager, but bubbly young woman with tons of knowledge. She had short red hair and brown eyes, she was very curious about the Dalish, she was a very pretty sixteen year old girl. He was 17 years old at the time. She took a liking to Artemis, and they eventually ended up in bed after going into town and getting drunk. Surana was shocked, and ended up leaving the next day. Artemis never saw her again, which he was fine with.

* Artemis dated, had a one night stand with, or kissed all three of the possible elven progies. None of which are the Hero of Ferelden.
