Depending how DA4 would pan out. I like to explore Rivain as well.

If DA4 will be in the Imperium as is expected, Rivain should be involved given their proximity to Par Vollen and their current struggle with identity, human Andrastian,Qunari Qunari or their local heritage and faith.

It'd be cool if a Tevinter/Rivain combo were included in DA4.

I've wanted to go to Rivain ever since I found out about it.

I doubt we ever will though. It's a land full of darkskinned people for ffs and we all now how that goes.

Rivain is my favorite area and I've been wanting to go since game one, but I doubt we will.

A) They aren't a boring Western European or Medieval Catholic Church-inspired area, so we're not going there any time soon.

B ) They don't go around conquering or oppressing others, so of course we don't hear much about them. Not when we can stay close to and hear about Ferelden, Orlais, and Tevinter over and over and over again.

I'd like to see Rivain's cultural and social dysfunctions in all their glory.

It would be the place I'd retire to if I ended up in Thedas.

Rivain is lower on the power totem pole (or higher if you want to get pedantic) than even Ferelden. It's not mentioned because it's pretty much irrelevant. It's got less stability than Antivia politically, who's politics are 80% assassination based. As it's described in game, it's basically an outlaw's haven. Very much the Omega of the dragon age setting.

I want to know Rivain!

Mostly because I'm curious about their treatment over spirits (not the alcoholic kind,), since I think they seemed to befriend them dispite having Chantry influence (spirits are demon) and Qunari (spirits are worse than mages, kill 'em!!).

Also maybe because I got Cole's amulet using Josephine and the Rivaini was so impressed by the Inquisition's intent on protecting a spirit s/he gave it for free. That could also be a factor that moves my heart in wanting to know about them a bit more :)

And yes, I'd like to see an area/setting that has a lot more tan and different cultural flavour.
Or a lot more horns with their own specific flavour :D (I prefer Sten's Qunari than IB's tbh. They are rigid, no nonsence, strive for mastery kind of folks with the Tamassaran's telling you who mates with whom to produce a desired generation :D a world soooo very different than the usual)

Edit: Do you think there will be many/some Qunari (as in a real Qunari by the capital 'Q' that lives by their principal residing in Rivain?)

Yeah, I know absolutely nothing about Rivain.

It exists... I guess.

I'd love to visit Llomerryn specifically. And I'd like to see the different cultures and identities of the people that comprise Rivain. Juggling Qunari influence, Chantry segments, and local cultural traditions has got to be tumultuous.

Rivain sounds like a beautiful mix of all these different cultures - plus, its own unique views and traditions. It's juggling proximity to Tevinter, to Par Vollen (inc. existing Qunari settlements), as well as limited Chantry influence. I would love to know more about its seers and its traditions with magic, and people's relationships with spirits. It also seems to be the pirate capital of Thedas, given that it's a peninsula surrounded by water - and everyone knows that adding pirates to things just makes them better.

If, as Trespasser hinted at, a renewed struggle between the Qunari and the Imperium is on the cards, it'd be really strange to miss out Rivain, which sits between the two.

Especially chantry influence, or lack there of. I'm so sick of those pious idiots.

There's still Chantry influence there, it's just mixed in with everything else like Qunari, pantheists and pirates.

If Bioware goes the two country route like they did with DA:I's setting, Rivain would be my top choice for the second nation. Tevinter of course is guaranteed to be the other.

I'd like to visit, though not necessarily spend a large portion of game time there.

Just enough to pick up that Rivaini Seer companion I want.

Abominations are a it.

It ceases being a person when it becomes possessed.
