It seems like the writers were literally telling us the Warden is meant to be a warrior.

It doesn't really bother me. Bioware/default canon indicated the following PCs:
Warrior - Dalish Elf
Mage - Male Hawke
Rogue - Female Trevelyan
So, they really had a warrior in mind.

They didn't have to rub it in your face, though.

You should be bothered if the default DA4 PC starts shooting magic, even if your PC is a warrior/rogue.

Regarding the archdemon kill, I assumed the Warden saw a chance to attack, saw a weapon on the ground, and the rest is history. I guess adrenaline is just super helpful, which is how my archer managed to stab through scales and everything so easily. Ahem.
And I'm never the one to fight Loghain. That's Alistair's job.

I don't fight Loghain on my canon (Surana). I always felt it was 'dirty pool' and bad PR to go dueling him with a magic using warden. So Alistair duels him on her run, and my Amells. Other times, my warden does the job.

Yeah, one zap with a lightning spell and he'd be teyrn toast. The duel is supposed to be honorable, right? I can't imagine pelting his face with arrows would be any better. ![]()

Does it bother you to see your rogue or mage using a huge sword to kill Loghain or slay the archdemon?
It seems like the writers were literally telling us the Warden is meant to be a warrior.
Absolutely. (How did I not see this thread before?) Although I had Alistair in my party for both events for my canon playthrough, so I can headcanon that he offered some sort of assistance.

Well, I thought Bioware wanted the warden to be a mage, considering how much easier your life becomes when you play as a mage. But of course, the final scene is rather comic unless your mage is an arcane warrior. And my rogue? I dount that he can lift that sword, let alone using it to kill the archdemon. In any case, it certainly isn't his style. My DW warrior can certainly use it but why would he when he's been using two swords all this time?

My Amell could use it. Acrane Warrior and all. My Cousland can too, although she's a sword and shields lady of the battle field, I don't think she'd use a two hands sword to kill the Archdemon ( if it were up to me, I'd wish they'd given us the chance to use our own weapons on the Archdemon.) While my other Cousland, Brendan, is also capable.
