Is there any way to play this with a controller? I couldn't find the option in the menu to change it...
Any way to play with a wired xbox controller? (or any other controller)

There's no controller support from what I can tell. Kind of weird... the game was designed with consoles in mind and the interface is clearly tailored around that sort of input device, but why there's no standard gamepad or 360 controller stuff included is just strange. There might be a hidden INI tweak or console command though, maybe go snooping?

I did, but I didn't like the idea of using a program that just basically hacks the game. =/

There's a file called defaultengine.ini (on my comp it's in C:\\\\Games\\\\MassEffect2\\\\BioGame\\\\Config ), and I see a setting called AllowJoystickInput=0 .
Try setting that to 1 and see what happens.
Of course BACK UP the file before you change it. (My lawyers made me write that)

@AllThisToDownloadPatch
tried that..lol unfortunately any modifying of these .ini files automatically causes the game to crash at start-up. even if you got the code AllowJoystickInput=0 and erase the 0 and just put the same 0 back, then save. u will crash at start-up. forcing you to restore to original ini's to fix it.
seems like they locked us out of the .ini's.
