If Hawke survives the Nightmare demon encounter, they will be mentioned by Varric “walking away from the Wardens’ fortress as it explodes”. The epilogue will also reveal that Hawke returned to Kirkwall to assist Varric. (Aveline is now shown to have short hair)

NO love interest made the cut?  Really?  They made to a mention in the Fade and even Hawke's cameo.  None of the four? No happy ending love interest for Hawke male/female gay/straight.  Really?

There is mention that the youngest of Josephine's sister end's up with a Rivaini Pirate Capt (so is that to imply Isabela left Hawke for Josie's youngest sister...what?)

But no matter the romance, none make it back to Kirkwall.  I guess the bromance survives with Varric, but my Hawke's a woman, so not the same.

Why?  I know we can't all be happy, and half the world isn't going to rise up, like when BioWare killed Shep no matter what you did at the end of ME3.  People put hundreds of hours into their Shep and 3 games, they didn't want to let Shep go.

Hawke had one game, and this is just a romance...

The Hero of Fererldon (if you romanced Leliana and still live) is still with her, or I should say at least my Warden made the cut.  I would doubt the cut is made on gender lines and only the female Wardens made it ;however, I will check and say any male HoF romance Leliana and live to tale the tale and the end of the DLC?

Still...why not give Hawke a happy ending with the paramour of their choice unless they are going to be a romantic option in DA4, but then you would just get the chance to romance yourself.

That would just be kinda weird.

Hmmm.  Would I be hot enough for me?  I was kinda lazy and half my Hawke's were default appearance b/c she pretty cute.  Inquisitor...you really had to program.

What is the point in denying fans the happy romance Hawke ending?  I write fanfic, so it does effect me, b/c it effects cannon.

I can write a happy ending, for Fem Hawke and Isa, but there isn't one...in their case there specifically isn't one.

Just straight up Hawke romance at the end of Trespasser DLC.

Why absolute zero Hawke romance possibility happiness at the end of our tale when Hawke had it (if they had it) going into Inquisition?

Since Hawke walks out of the flames and carnage again to survive and her/his death wasn't going to be definitive in the fade anyway (Leliana did not die at the hand of the HoF in DA:O in Cannon no matter how you played it she survived to be in DA:I).

Just sad face.

I went to publish a DA2 story and just realized it is against cannon.

Meh.

Did it bother me if Hawke's romance was not mention if he/she survived - nope.

Whomever Hawke romanced has no merit on the ending. Yes, the HOF is mentioned based on IF you chose to romance Lilly. Why? Because Lilly was an important character in the game, thus having closure on her ending was needed.

Hawke was a minor character in a minor role. Sure, his/her romance was mentioned from Hawke, the fear demon, possibly Cullen and Varric but it was simply an acknowledgment and a fear the demon could use.

Whatever happened to Hawke's romance was told in DA2. If Hawke is still with whomever  they romanced more likely they still are together. Just because they are not mentioned in Hawke's prologue does not mean they some how broken up. The romance could be off doing their own thing for their own reasons.

My Hawke romanced Anders. It was pretty obvious in the prologue while Hawke helped Varric, I doubt Anders would be welcomed back in Kirkwall.

It all falls down to using your own idea about where Hawke's romance is and understand this is the Inquisition ending, not Hawke's.

Maybe it's becuase Hawke isn't that important anymore? Ah, well my Hawke went back to Kirkwall (why would he do that ? I don't think he'd what to go to Kirkwall, becuase he thinks Kirkwall has some voodo bad luck on him or something).

Patrick Weekes said on Twitter that Hawke had a happy ending with all possible romance options. It's just not mentioned in Trespasser's epilogue slides.

Plus he's surprisingly funny. :P

As said above, wrote Solas, Bull and Cole. Recently became the new lead writer, which means he was the one in charge of Trespasser.

Meh, I'm quite happy with a dead Hawke. No more human-only PC DA games, Bioware!

Ah-ha.  I am thick/dense.

TYVM;)

Lead writer I can translate into my thick skull.

TY both very much.  I have to go on hiatus from fanfic for real life deadlines for my own agent.  It sounds silly, but I do like to provide stuff based on cannon, like happy ending stuff, which in the end...fans want.

BioWare (EA) owns DA, not me, so I try to stick to cannon.

I do enjoy their games, so much so, that i do stuff like write fanfic so my agent can shake his head and go, but you know there will never be money in that right?  He really doesn't understand fun.  From an agent POV fanfic is self-defeating; however, I stick to the law...

It's beside the point.

Thank you.  I wanted to give some BioWare fans a much warranted happy ending on a DA2 Fem Hawke/Isabella piece that's nice and angsty and I've kinda run my audience through the ringer...because they like it...if you can give them a happy ending.

Now I know I can provide in good conscious.

Hawke is happy with said paramour, life is good.

I just got around to my 5th play through of Inquisition and roled a human...wow are you treated differently ingame by NPC's than any other race.

I only killed my male gay-goodie two shoes Hawke who was with Anders...really bad taste in men that one.

All my bitchy funny lesbian Hawkes lived through Inquisition...I always say...it depends on the Hawke...whiny Hawkes never make it.

Really hot lesbian Hawke or Alister was a tough choice though...

Logaine or Hawke tough choice...not so much...Stroud...whiny Hawke almost survived against the 'stache.

There is mention that the youngest of Josephine's sister end's up with a Rivaini Pirate Capt (so is that to imply Isabela left Hawke for Josie's youngest sister...what?)

That only happens if you resolved Josephine's quest without listening to Leliana. If you did listen to Leliana, the House of Repose goes to work for Josephine which means Josephine's ships are too well guarded for the pirates to attack. It probably isn't Isabella anyway, since the pirates who attack Josephine are doing so out of an ancestral grudge

Why on earth would they need to be mentioned in order for them to have a happy ending with Hawke? I immediately assumed that they and Hawke have a lifestyle appropriate to their romance.

They didn't even show up in the game. They are not Inquisition characters. Why mention them in inquisition's epilogue?

Plus, he wrote four books, three of them quite readable (the fourth one I haven't read yet) and one of them for DA. I'm afraid DA will go in a direction I don't like with him, but he's proven his competence as a writer.

I like a lot of his stuff too, but I'm not exactly confident. Well see, I guess. And it's probably because I don't like Bull. lol. It puts a damper on the things I do like. In a game where I expected more serious themes of faith and war, the comedic stuff and irreverence just throws me for a loop. Like all I see is the writer themselves, trying to be cute. I hate when all I see is the writer.

I'm pretty sure the slide said that it was a male pirate captain.

Plus, Isabela is an admiral now, not a captain (note the hat).  :P

It's only natural to be skeptical of a writer if you dislike a character they've written in the past. We form opinions based on what we've seen. Hey, I have misgivings myself. I liked Cole and I liked the plot and some of the characters in The Masked Empire (Michel and Felessan, mostly), but I didn't like Briala, and I was iffy on Iron Bull. But my apprehensions stem from my dislike of the present fixation on all things elven and my concern that he tends to rely on quirks of mannerism or speech to make characters unique. Cole's alliteration, Bull's modernisms, Solas's iambic speech rhythm. Characters aren't simply collections of check boxes. I take comfort in the knowledge that we haven't seen his entire range. He's relatively new to the franchise, so there will be plenty of opportunities to surprise us. Plus, he will be joined by an entire team of writers. He won't be carrying the entire thing himself.

I liked all of them though. Briala, Cole, etc.. It's weird. I guess everyone has their duds, but this one really annoys me.

In Mass Effect, I'm a huge Jack fan too.. but he didn't exactly write her in ME2 (he picked it up after Brian Kindregan left), but loved what he did in ME3. Along with picking up Tali after ME1.

My Hawke romanced Anders, who will always be in hiding, so he's with Hawke but they won't be advertising Ander's presence since that wouldn't go over well in Kirkwall.

My (canon) LadyHawke was a snarky, cute redhead who romanced Isabela.  In her discussion about her companions/family who are close to her, she mentions she and Isabela are in an open relationship and currently Issa is doing her own thing on the high seas.  Kit expected to be reunited with her once each finished her own business.  Aveline is looking after GW Bethany, got her as far away from Corypheus as she could.

They may not turn up in body, but it is mentioned where they are.  While Trespasser might not have mentioned them per se, I'm willing to accept that they are happy, and will be reunited in Kirkwall (provided they aren't Anders, who is probably hiding under a stone somewhere).  Since Kit was closest to Varric, Bethany, Aveline and Isabela, it would make sense those were the ones she'd mention, and it would totally be IC for her to return to Kirkwall to 'assist' Varric.  Someone's got to keep an eye out on that treasury ;)

Kit had quite a bit of rogue/pirate in her and was a born troublemaker.  I imagined she gave Leandra and Malcolm more than one sleepless night worrying about what a bad end she was going to come to.

One thing that annoyed me was that I didn't hear Cole say "look into my eyes" once! Otherwise he was a cool character, although pretty different to how I imagined him from the book, understandable considering what he went through though.
