9100 and 2.0 CPU was for the original poster, 11 months ago. I dare say he has gotten it fixed by now.

This thread has been necro'd, and now we await Zanzan and Aaron to post their specs.

Guys, no specs, no help.

Aaron, you too have an integrated graphics chip that is nowhere near min spec. And the first result on Google says that the Celeron 450 is single core? If so, the CPU is below min spec too. That the game is malfunctioning on your machine is frankly not too surprising, then. Bioware did do some post-release work to make the game work with single cores, and that does seem to have helped on the CPU side, at least. But the likelihood of problems arising from below-min-spec GPUs has been discussed on these forums before and confirmed by Bioware programmers. That discussion centered around difficulties being able to interact with objects, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are other dependencies - like this one, it sounds like. They don't publish minimum specs for no reason.

If you got both a new processor and a new graphics card, I feel fairly certain you wouldn't have this problem. I can't guarantee you upgrading only one or the other would fix the problem - though, going by the OP, who had a processor nearly identical to mine and yet was having this same problem, perhaps an actual graphics card would be the of business if ME2 is your top priority.

I purchsed the GeForce 9800 GT and it fixed the problem, got the security bypass on the first try after installing new card.

Upon checking my specs prior though, I did have Nvidia 7050 wich if im not mistaken is listed as compatible...

Im just very pleased that its working now and aI can play this great game...

This install made the whole game new again...

Thanks for the help everyone.

Glad to hear it's working better with the new graphics card. :) I suppose at this point we can solidly advise anyone else with this problem to look at a new GPU rather than new CPU.

It definitely would not be listed unless they made some mistake. The 7000 series is recent enough for the architecture to be compatible, yes, but integrated chips like the 7050 don't have enough processing power to actually keep up. Whether they bothered to include it in the list of cards they specifically name as incompatible, I couldn't tell you.

I am having the exact same problem. I just started playng the game on my laptop a couple of days ago. I cannot get from one node to the other fast enough. For the most part I have been able to ignore the doors and continue with the game but I am now on the planet trying to rescue the Krogen and I have to go through a locked door to contniue. Do I need this part of the game or can I go back and fly to other places? Is there way to skip over this point and continue w
with the story?

Dead and buried threads last active over six months ago should be left in the grave.

Laptops are not supported.  They have inadequate cooling, and the vast majority have inadequate graphics.
