Name: J0K3R- weapon oriented soldier- "The comedic AI"

Species: synthetic/mech

Background synopsis:

Originally a rogue AI experiment in a shady lab of the alliance corsairs, he was eventually able to re-program himself at will to the dismay of the corsairs. Eventually, they grew to like this AI, nicknaming him "J0K3R"-joker after it decided to download many comedy databases and able to make jokes out of any situation. He was also then transported to a of mech format, giving him an actual body. from then on he was eventually released from the labs to work with assisting the pathfinders, meaning that he is with the player from the start.

Personality:

He is what can be referred to as the lovable *******. He will make jokes out of any situation, whatever the circumstance, whoever the subject. At first Detreen will find him distasteful but then eventually warm up to him. Neon will love him from the start even asking the player to bring him on a mission with them on occasion. Shaun will tolerate him as they are in your squad from the start and Kheera will find his jokes about Quarians insensitive as well as intimidating due to the quarian history with synthetics (geth) yet will eventually like his wise-cracks and will even spout out jokes about Quarians on occasion (when in the same ship as him). he also comments quality banter on missions.

Appearance:

J0K3R will look humanoid with pure white coloring. He is a relatively bulky build (Think N7 destroyer) but has a face plate that looks like a quarian visor that lights red when he speaks. He is significantly taller than most/all squadmates-6"4

Moral alignment/approval:

He will blindly agree with whatever the player chooses yet will eventually want the player to either "continue looking on the bright side-paragon or "learn to ease up a little"-renegade

He prefers it when the player incorporate humor in dialogue as well as taking a non-serious outlook on general matters. He will also ask if the PC can help in prank everyone on the ship.

Combat:

J0K3R is what can be described as a tank with high shields and armor (substitute for health). He uses devastator mode to enhance fire rate and rip through enemies. He also uses hawk missile launcher  to stagger/damage enemies. scatter grenades break upon impact and trigger incendiary explosions with eachother, setting up for a major clusterf***. His loyalty skill is fortification which means that he can enhance his defense even further.

J0K3R uses assault rifles and a minigun called roxanne

Loyalty mission:

J0KER will come up to your character asking for the PC to help him obtain a new piece of prototype software that will improve his processing speed to improve his wit when making new comedy material, as nobody would trust a mech to go to the convention in which it is being presented. The PC will have to send a squadmate to scout the premises in which it will occur so they can successfully steal the software. An INFILTRATOR squadmate is compulsory as they will be the ones who will actually be stealing the software. The PC will actually be the one trying to distract the opening act/comedian(who is a batarian) which will be trying to "roast" his audience. The PC has to roast (cuss) the comedian back to the point where it drags out long enough for the infiltrator to steal the software and sabotage the stage just in case the PC can't distract the comedian (this would be hilarious). If all goes according to plan, the player will cuss the comedian to the point of crying (out of all four eyes) and the software will be obtained clearly. If the comedian successfully cusses the PC and is about to walk off stage, he will either be blasted in the face by Detreen while she maintains her cloak and escapes with the software anonymous to the audience. Shaun would take a more subtle approach and instead rig the comedians omni-tool to explode (via hacking). destroying his arm in the process and him flailing off the stage and dying on the spot of the audience. So it ends on a cheery note.

J0K3R's loyalty is obtained regardless, though if the comedian was killed he will mention how he "would have at least tried to let the roasting last a little while longer..."

Romance:

He cannot be romanced, but a sexual enhancement can be installed on him (as per subtle request) due to a certain squad member possibly requiring him to "serve them in a different way"

Note:

i hope you guys are enjoying my descent into my f***ed up imagination. I have more ideas that i may post soon (maybe tomorrow?)

Batarian, I don't care if he is the last one in existence, a Batarian squadmate is long overdue. Hell just stick Bray on the Ark and have him be the Batarian Squadmate.

Female Turian & Male Quarian would also be welcome additions.

Man, I'd kill for like an older generation Krogan Warlord or Shaman who spoke with great wisdom and eloquence.

Humble when we spoke, but a blood raged beast in combat.

This list pleases me. Not sure how to feel about Rosario Dawson voicing a character, but Alan Tudyk can voice anything.

No, not gender bender. Just like how Shepard could be male and female.

I'd like to see more of the gender/species combinations we've not yet seen very much (or at all).

- Female krogan
- Female turian
- Female drell
- Female batarian
- Female vorcha

That list turned out to be pretty lop-sided. I could add male quarian as a potential squadmate, but we have had quite a bit of exposure to quarian society including both genders. Seeing a female salarian as something other than a dalatrass could be interesting, too.

Since they probably could not all be squadmates, maybe we could see some of them in other support roles. I think I'd like that.

Name:  Tolyan Salinus "speedy"-vanguard assassin

Species:  Drell

Background synopsis:

After the entrance of Andromeda, The Hanar decided that they needed more Drell to enter the compact (an act of service as the Drell act like personal bodyguards to their Hanar masters) as they felt that their position was threatened due to the relative lacking of combat capability (yet there a few that are fit for combat, just not enough). Tolyan was no exception for this, who had believed that his parents died due to natural causes (yet really were really assassinated so the Hanar were more likely to gain him as an asset). The Hanar had decided to wire him with a VI thought to totally brainwash him into the perfect killer. It instead turned him partially psychotic. The hanar attempted to use this in their favor by using him for high-end political assassinations and suicide missions that no other mercenary would survive. Eventually, he had found out that his Hanar masters were really why his parents had died and that the VI he had in his head was the reason for his constant anger. he left them in spite of the compact, and resorted to mercenary work and assassinations (similar to what he did for the Hanar) hoping to eventually truly free himself using the alias "speedy" and find a way to eventually escape from the Hanar constantly tracking him (through the VI). He eventually descended into the use of Red Sand and developed a sexual compulsion towards robots/synthetics over the time of his career. The PC won't actually have to find him to recruit him (this is impossible). he will instead send an email to the player stating that he has sought them out and is interested in joining the pathfinders mission. He can be rejected or accepted.

Personality:

He is usually friendly with the player but can be caught snorting red sand and hysterically giggling to himself about the robo-**** and joking with the VI in his head. (he can explain that this was the first synthetic he ever slept with and the reason he will f*** any robot that's dirty enough). He usually puts on a rebellious attitude, but he is actually deeply ashamed of his addiction and is afraid that one day the VI will eventually take over him. Your character can on occasion tell him to end his addiction and stay clean. On another note, he is an atheist and has no interest in Drell religion or it's practices.

Appearance:

Tolyan is 5"7 with an acrobatic build and has a grey skin tone. The back of his head is metallic (hence the VI and a biotic amp) and his eyes glow a deep red. He wears an open jacked (exposing his front torso.) as well as leather acrobat-jeans connected with his black shoes. His jacket has two vertical red lines that go down through the center back.

moral alignment/approval:

Tolyan is what can be considered chaotic neutral and favours the most dangerous routes as he loves "a good warm up". However, on stealth missions, he prefers if the PC takes the squad through the most stealthy route as he can bring some of his assassin practice into play.

in terms of dialogue, he is favorable of the most cruel/intimidating stances that the player can make, and may on occasion say (post-dialogue) that his VI found it "funny" and then he will start giggling, as he likes to "snort up" before missions. Kheera despises him, as he also shares mutual feelings. Neon REALLY likes him, stating that he would be fun to bring to a party". Shaun, respects him for his skills but nothing else. J0K3R is nervous due to his sexual deviance for robots possibly making him Tolyans next target for fun. Detreen prefers to avoid him in general.

Combat:

His main skill is biotic charge for navigation and damaging enemies. warp is something he typically uses for priming biotic detonations. lash is what he uses when he wants to bring the enemies to him. His loyalty skill is biotic focus which can stack effects, and while this seems mundane, his power damage and movement speed increases dramatically.

he uses a pistol and shotgun and has low durability.

Loyalty mission:

Eventually a bunch of Drell assassins will manage to sneak onto your ship when on a hub planet, and as soon as you exit the planet, they will try to attack Tolyan. the PC and him will have to dispatch of them with assistance from the ships in-built defense drones. After this, you will have to search their bodies and scan their omni-tools for any clue to who sent them. They will eventually find out that they were sent by a Hanar called "lorynx" who is actually revealed to be Tolyan's old master. Tolyan concludes that he has an idea of where his old master is hiding and also that they will have the deactivation code for the tracking function of his VI.

When you land on the water-based planet, The PC and Tolyan will have to wear gravity altering boots that will allow the player and Tolyan not to be ripped apart by the different types of gravity that the Hanar are able to withstand. After tracking a signal ping via omni-tool (there will be a bar on the HUD that will show the frequency of the pings. If the percentage increases, it means they are getting closer.). When the ship is discovered, tolyan suggests a plan which involves the player distracting the Hanar "lorynx" while Tolyan assassinate him. the player will have to individually fight through waves of Drell assassins and then confront the Hanar. The PC will successfully distract the Hanar no matter what  topics are used, and Tolyan will appear behind His old master and blast a hole through him with a shotgun. "A loose end tied" he will mutter. He will have already retrieved the deactivation code from Lorynx's terminal and you will both exit onto the ship. a cutscene will ocur when he is shown to be de-activating the tracking via his omni-tool. "deactivation complete" will be heard from his omni-tool. A single tear will roll down his face and he will smile stating "i'm finally free." His loyalty will be gained and he will become more trusting of the player. he will also decide that he needs to clean up his addiction from red sand if the PC tried to convince him to get clean, otherwise, his drug-use will intensify and he will be stoned more often. either way he idolises the PC.

Romance:

He can be flirted with if the PC is female but will eventually say that she "isn't metal enough."

He also somehow manages to persuade J0K3R to ask for the sexual enhancement upgrade, as Tolyas was actually the one who wanted J0K3R to "serve him something more than humor".

Note:

more coming up soon, hope you're enjoying this sio far, I will accept ideas and constructive criticism  ;)  :D

This is my ideal crew.

·         Marilyn Worth / Crowley - Female Human engineer. An N7 operative skilled in explosives, sabotage and assassination. For years she was an "off the books" operative(like Jason Bourne), dealing primarily in wetwork and sabotage in the interest of human advancement. She shows signs of sociopathy with flashes of passion and empathy. Basically a sexy ice queen. It is eventually revealed that Marilyn was an assassin for hire(under the alias Crowley) during her time as a sanctioned rogue operative and compromised an Alliance mission for pay.

         Sniper Rifles & SMGs.

                       Romanceable. Bisexual.

      Armor-Piercing Arrows

Explosive Arrows(knock down weak foes; explode after 3 seconds; tech detonator)

      Energy Drain

      Incinerate

·         Blake Hall - Male Human infiltrator. An N7 operative skilled in hand to hand combat, infiltration, investigative techniques and "reading" people. Basically James Bond in space. He formerly infiltrated Cerberus and took down a dozen high ranking Cerberus leaders, shut down dozens of Cerberus operations, and had a hit put on his head by the Illusive Man himself. He's suave, persuasive, manipulative, and always working an angle.

                       Pistols.

                       Romanceable. Bisexual.

      Flashbang Grenade

      Shadow Strike

      Flamer

      Snap Freeze

·         Eris Muliat - Female Drell vanguard. Formerly personal security for Hanar dignitaries and politicians. Outwardly stoic and cold but personable and fun loving once her guard is down. Also fiercely loyal to her friends.

                       Shotguns & Pistols.

                       Romanceable. Straight.

      Annihilation Field

      Reave

      Warp Ammo

      Cluster Grenade

·         Kardan Sarak - Male Krogan sentinel. Born on Thessia and raised by an Asari Matriarch to be skilled in countless forms of art and combat, he's a powerful warrior with an even temper on and off the battlefield. He has no love for Krogans and prides himself on his intellect and controlled emotions. He’s not an open book at all and is reluctant to get to know members of short-lived races like humans, Salarians and Turians because to him, time is a resource.

                       Assault Rifles & Shotguns.

      Defense Matrix

      Pull

      Overload

      Flare

·         Rani D’Roava - Asari Commando soldier. Born to a wealthy and influential amoral family on Illium but disowned after joining the Asari military. Despite a total lack of biotic abilities she quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the youngest Commandos and the first Commando with no biotic abilities. She's hotheaded and cocky on the battlefield but quick-witted and sarcastic off. She uses her sexual wiles to get what she wants.

                       Assault Rifles & Shotguns.

                       Romanceable. Bisexual.

      Marksman

      Incendiary Ammo

      Stimulant Pack

      Carnage

·         Darith Sebfugar - Male Batarian adept. Formerly the commander of a special Batarian task force with the goal of policing Batarian pirates and slavers to avoid political and military blowback. Usually abrasive, argumentative and full of bravado, but sharp, wise, helpful and very likeable. Also unconcerned with social niceties and personal feelings, frequently using insults and badgering to get his point across. Despite being outwardly apathetic and grandiose most of the time, he’s deeply emotional, empathetic and introverted. Very much like Dr.Cox from 'Scrubs'

          Shotguns & SMGs

      Stasis

      Throw

      Dark Channel

      Lift Grenade

·         Raal’Moto vas Fleet - Male Quarian sentinel. A special operative for the Flotilla tasked with acquiring resources and intelligence for the fleet by whatever means necessary. Essentially a Quarian Robin Hood, preying on the rest of the galaxy. Fiercely loyal to his people and deeply distrustful of other races. Entirely adverse to artificial intelligences. He keeps to himself and doesn't open up easily. Even among Quarians he’s an outcast because of his anti-social attitude and moral superiority (“doing anything less than dedicating your entire self to the Fleet is to act against your people”).

                        Pistols & Assault Rifles.

      Sabotage

      Barrier

      Phase Disruptor

      Homing Grenade

·         Galena Tremodos - Female Turian vanguard. Formerly the leader of a Turian Cabal, she was personally assigned to this team by the Turian Councilor. Nothing is known to the rest of the crew about her personally and she seems to have a secret agenda. She’s been tasked with exerting influence over any and all key players in the Ark mission to position the Turian leadership in a more powerful role. Her affection might be a façade.

                       Shotguns & SMGs.

                       Romanceable. Bisexual.

      Warp

      Nova

      Lash

      Cryo Ammo

                       Assault Rifles & Sniper Rifles.

                       Romanceable. Straight.

      Multi-Frag Grenade

Acidic Ammo(pierces armor; damage bonus on armor, organics & synthetics; weak on shields)

      Concussive Shot

      Shield Boost

Name: Wrolg "the ignored"- engineer

Species: Krogan

Background synopsis:

While many Krogan are renowned for their aggressiveness, Wrolg just wasn't like the others. From a young age, Wrolg was often ridiculed and mocked by fellow Krogan due to his interest in biological engineering instead of the customary fighting that the others favored. Through many years Wrolg ventured mysteriously through Andromeda, seeking sanctuary as all he has ever known is a world that oppressed him. he eventually found what he had sought on mel'tesh, a world inhabited and established by the Salarians upon entrance to Andromeda. There, they treated him as an equal. While some had to adapt to a Krogan becoming involved in their antics, eventually he joined the reformed STG under special circumstances due to his excellence in many fields of biology, specifically genetic engineering. Eventually, a distress call is heard when the PC ship enters the cluster where mel'tesh is located. When the PC lands upon mel'tesh for the first time, they will notice a burning base of typical Salarian structure strategically located in the middle of the jungle. the PC and squad will have to fight through waves of Enraged Krogan through the base where multiple dead Salarian scientists are to be seen. Eventually when the PC and co make it to the main labs, Wrolg will be seen wrestling another krogan while his turret mows down another. After helping him kill the rest of the enemies, he will explain how they were researching a way to modify krogan DNA  so that they could tap into blood rage at any moment instead of when near-death. He will also explain how he was the only successful candidate and all of the other krogan experiments went mad within the first 24 hours of operation. The PC can either recruit Wrolg or say something along the lines of I don't trust you resulting in the squad having to kill an enraged Wrolg.

personality:

Uncharacteristic for a krogan, Wrolg speaks eloquently and tends to speak in a patient, soft manner that Kheera describes as, hot melted dextro dark chocolate. he is also surprisingly sociable, and acts as a surrogate father for fellow squad mates despite his troubled past. He holds heavy disdain against the krogan way of life as he finds how they are barbaric and that they are a lost race in need of a path to the way of peace. If Urdnot Wrex was the saved and therefore survived to be the leader of the krogan race Wrolg will mention how there was someone who did that once, he helped our race. the player can compare this to the experimentation on his own race and he will counter that it was for the good of everybody and that he will eventually find a cure for the "sickness that inhabits his people".

Appearance:

Due to Wrolg being a middle age krogan, he has a typically standard appearance of slightly tan cream skin with burgandy armor plates. He had a relatively medium-sized back hump and levels at J0K3RS' height at 6"4. He has black eyes and a bulky build (typical krogan). He wears silver armor with a rapid pattern of light blue stripes going along the arms and legs, as well as a silver krogan death mask helmet with two green glowing eyes. On the ship, he will wear jet black suit. This will look unusual on the occasions when he is doing an occassional scientific experiment that will result in the player getting upgrade schematics. if the player asks how he managed to taylor the upghrade schematic towards the squadmates and themselves he will casually mention how he took samples when everyone was asleep. Kheera adores him, Neon likes to irritate him but has good intentions, J0K3R finds him interesting in comparison to other krogan records he can dig up, Detreen trusts him, Tolyan respects him, and shaun finds him entertaining.

Moral alignment:

Wrolg is chaotic good as he is willing to perform un-nerving experiments for the good of others, yet is also able to play the surrogate father by giving advice to those in need. Wrolg approves of the player being compassionate to others. He also approves of the PC showing scientific interest. He finds the PC taking aggressive routes "terribly savage" yet will understand if combat cannot be avoided.

Combat:

a special move that cannot be learned by ANYONE is his blood rage ability, as the experiment meant that he can tap into it at any time. It increases weapon and melee damage as well as enhancing health regeneration. incinerate will be used for priming incendiary damage and detonations. heavy turret would be his strategic move where his throws a turret that launches missiles at nearby enemies, yet range is limited. His loyalty skill is adrenaline mist, which enhances squadmate and player damage as well as slowing time so that shots can cut through enemies like butter.

Loyalty mission:

Eventually, Wrolg will start to display signs of uncharacteristic aggression, and will progressive damage more and more of the ship until the player must confront Wrolg. wrolg will panic, and state that he may be beginning to destabilize as a result of the experiment. he will research what he cand do to stop it and eventually (after around 3 missions) he will inform the PC that they left a possible piece of research at the facility on mel'tesh that wrolg was first recruited in. you and wrolg will have to explore the facility, where more krogan will be encountered. he will state how we can't have got them all, we must have left some over. good, i'm just getting started. he will venture of into the facility without the player, resulting in them having to chase him until he starts killing more krogan. He will come to his senses, apologize, and will continue through the facility. Eventually, you find a blue injector device that wrolg claims will be his cure. He injects it into himself, and instead goes full apes***, attacking the player. the player has to defeat him, and can either kill him or spare him after the battle. He will state how he now feels strangely serene, and that his body is exhaling adrenal chemicals, hence his new move Adrenaline surge, which acts as a way to balance the primary and tertiary chemicals that induce blood rage. if killed, he will be removed from your squad (duh), if not, he will become loyal to the player and apologize for everything.

after the loyalty mission is complete, he will become even more hospitable to everyone, and begin to show sorrow among his gross assumption of the krogan, hinting that he wants to help the krogan instead of condemning them to their impending fate of self-destruction.

Romance:

Wrolg is a potential female LI.

upon initial flirtations, Wrolg will shut off the player, but he will eventually respond to the player stating that he is interested. He will eventually state he is in for a serious relationship or nothing.

the player can say she is either interested in a serious relationship or can reject him (no affect on loyalty.)

if Wrolg wasn't romanced then he will start a relationship with kheera and that he is working of developing a permanent bolster for her immune system. Eventually you will notice that she is not longer so nervous around other people, suggesting that he eventually succeeded.

One thing that I'd quite like Mass Effect to touch upon is a character that's cybernetically enhanced somehow; in a similar nature to Ghost in the Shell, or Adam Jensen from Deus Ex. It's quite clear that this sort of technology exists as displayed by the Lazarus Project (on a nano level) and people like Kai Leng. However it isn't really expanded upon beyond that in the forefront of the lore.

If someone can be brought back from dying from re-entry, then there's probably going to be more people walking around with a prosthetic limb or two which could open up some interesting combat mechanics for that character.

These are very interesting sounding squadmates. I am liking Killroy's non-biotic Asari soldier and Beastoclock's Krogan engineer.

I am liking Killroy's non-biotic Asari soldier and Beastoclock's Krogan engineer.

I can just imagine her hitting on my krogan and him eventually become a father figure that helps her get over her mother/father issues  :D  :D

Name: "death dealer"- adept/ biotic god

Species: Volus

Background:

being a rare biotic from the new generation of volus, he was highly prized from birth. Like any other volus, he was educated in business tactics and was able to gain private biotic tuition due to his parents' expansive wealth. Eventually, he began working as the next heir to his parents business empire. At first it hit off, but when his parents passed on, the business began to fail due to many legal allegations made against his parents apparent crime of treason against the volus people. Eventually the business was razed to the ground. Being penniless, he decided to take his skills elsewhere, acting on as a black-market weapons dealer. He had formed enemies, and due to his diminutive size they often underestimated him, which was the last mistake they made. Eventually the player will come across a closed off part of a social hub, where police guards are guarding the entrance. Either way, the player can either persuade them, kill them, or bribe them. Once you go through the corridor the PC and squad will have to investigate a bunch of damaged rooms with dead mercs, one will have details on his omni-tools on a seller called "death dealer" and how the mercenary squad assigned to take him out and steal his weapons was their assignment. The PC will then get an anonymous call on his omni-tool, where a blocked image will come up and "death dealer" will arrange a meeting location and time where the player will meet him. The player will be greeted by a volus, offering them assistance on their mission. if asked why, he will say that he wants to stop his illegal black-market dealing and align himself with a real cause. He is then recruited to you party.

Personality:

He is often friendly, yet can become very evasive if asked about his last occupation. His patience is his most distinguishable trait, and will hear out the player in dialogue, before carefully elaborating his answers. He can also engage in friendly competition with other fellow biotic crew-members, and even the PC if he is a biotic or partially biotic class (adept, sentinel, vanguard).

He and Neon share a few interests (business pasts) and engage in banter at times.

He and Detreen have nothing in common yet he attempts to make efforts to speak to her anyways.

He and Kheera get along well and he often asks her what it's like being a part of the new generation of quarian biotics, and will eventually ask her about her squad (dead comrades)

he is often infuriated by J0K3R because of his constant joking about his diminutive height

Him and Tolyan engage in competitive biotic battle exercises in the combat simulator part of the ship, which strengthen them into forming a battle-bond

Him and wrolg get on especially well as they both have the same patient manner and therefore act like the brotherly uncles of the group.

Appearance:

He wears a standard volus pressure suit, with silver plating and red fabric. he is shorter than all squadmates, at a tiny 2"8 and his voice has a nasally quality.

Moral alignment:

He is what could be considered chaotic neutral. he shows no sympathy for criminals, even if they surrender, and prefers to take risky tactics in battle. he finds stealth useful but boring, therefore taking any opportunity to show his biotic prowess. He approves of players bartering for cheaper prices and better products, as well as displaying business knowledge. He disapproves of the player having political views however, and dislikes charity.

Combat:

He often likes to set up his enemies for detonations or killing shots with stasis, which he will often detonate with shockwave. He can also use dark channel. his loyalty skill is deflective shield which acts as a personal barrier than renders him temporarily invulnerable and reflects incoming projectiles/bullets and even missiles/explosives when upgraded.

He uses smgs and pistols and has very low health but high barrier/shield

Loyalty mission:

He will start acting strangely impatient and erratic and eventually a cut scene will occur where he will start destroying parts of the combat simulation. The player character will join him kill all of the combat simulated opponents and then ask DD what is wrong. he will mention that an old enemy of his decided to plant a hit on him. DD concludes that the company he hired can cancel the contract if the client either cancels or dies.

The PC and DD will then enter the lower parts of the main social hub where crime rates are regular. Knowing that he would be pursued, DD's old enemy had elaborately set the assassins to guard his quarters, leading the player and DD having to defeat many waves of enemies while occasionally having to hack the doors leading to his old enemy or taking the ventilation shafts if hacking is failed. When DD and the PC make it to the client, he can either be persuaded to cancel the contract and disappear, or kill him which will result in a boss battle (he will use biotic attacks and attack robots.) Either way the contract is cancelled and DD's loyalty is gained. He will be more open with you about his adventure and his past.

Romance:

He can be romanced by a male PC but will want a no-strings attached relationship or nothing. his loyalty is unaffected if that is rejected.
