How do you get 25k damage against guard without Guard Smasher, and what enemies are you doing it to
It varies. There are ways to increase damage, but in general its in that neighborhood. We probably have a few equipment/willpower/playstyle differences contributing to 20 vs 25k (this is still in the same order of magnitude). I think guard smasher doesn't benefit WH all that much because the bonus is additive to the already signifigant guard damage bonus from upgraded WH.
As for Panic, I just run them over with Charge. Again, I don't use WH on Avvar often and don't recommend it, but I do use it on other classes, and I just run them over.
World's Longest Solo - 2 hours!
Hunter, Level 20, Heartbreaker, Orlesian Chateau, Red Templars.
2 f'ing hours until the last Demon commander was dead ![]()
Hats off to Proto, who inspired me to try my own attempt. I used the same build he did, except I used throwing blades instead of elemental mines, although I think jelly beans would've made zone 5 much faster.
Andraste bless anyone who actually watches this.

Spike trap FTW

This is excellent! This just goes to show, patience is a virtue. I skimmed through a few parts, but I will probably watch it on a slow day at work. I was actually just talking to Pronto about his Hunter solo, and he said it was probably impossible to complete zone 5.

Thanks, man. It'll be hard for anyone to top your 29min Avvar HB run. This was definitely more of a test of patience. Zones 1-4 took one hour, and zone 5 was another hour by itself.
I had two attempts against red templars prior to this, and both times I wiped on zone 5 because I got too eager/impatient and tried to kill things faster
. I was pretty determined to complete it on the third try, no matter how long it took.
Now we just need to see a mage HB solo...

Bah! Those don't matter as much as gear and style of play! What are your stats?

I also have a +11 cunning armor upgrade on my Hunter, so yeah, not too bad

True, but the max defense and auto crits help a bit though...
3 spike traps per stealth! Nice strategy.
I found they didn't matter until I was over 200 in all three stats, then they made huge differences and helped a **** ton.

Imagine how long that would take on fc with no dragon call?
Whew, I'm not sure, but I would have to wear an adult diaper and one of these in order to get through it:

3 spike traps per stealth! Nice strategy.
Up to 4 with the superb cooldown amulet, but the PI ammy is just too OP to pass up.

I believe you. I'd like to get there, but elder scrolls online is beginning to take up more of my time these days ![]()
That patience! I applaud you!
Congratulations. I've watched the first 4 zones and the first 20 minutes of Zone 5.
First 4 were a breeze with how methodical you went about it. I need to be more patient...
You've had a couple close calls in Zone 5 already and no Demon Commanders have gone down. Interested to see how this plays out.
Can't help but think the mines would have been pretty useful...
Edit: Finished watching it. Well done sir!
Thanks, man - I agree that the mines would have been really, really helpful, especially since I'm just doing a basic kite/pull strategy the entire time. I still needed luck on several occasions to survive. You should make a new vid just to show how unnecessarily long mine was ![]()
Flank Attack OP!
Shoutout to Drasca for inspiring an Assassin solo, and to Ralcur for his Hunter solo; I thought I should give him a run for his money on longest solo time. I did it at level 17 mostly because I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to use for the actual attempt and I was still testing out some abilities to see what I would use for my fourth, hence the Fallback Plan that practically never ever ever gets used.

This could no doubt be done at level 6, having only Flank Attack and Stealth, but the lack of Cull the Herd and Hidden Blades would slow it down a bit. The only real issue would be Knights and their stupid lightning attacks.
Also, my new favorite part about the Assassin is being in stealth while Behemoths shoot homing crystal soulmass lyrium at you. It just tracks or orbits you for a short time, then flies off to make the wall! It was the only thing that kept me interested long enough to actually finish the match.
those 2-hours long solo, are we starting a new trend here??

Two hours with dem stats.
Promotion serfs would need to take day off.
Flank Attack OP!Gear:
- Bosun's Blade OP!
- Hakkon's Mercy
- Superb Cooldown Amulet (again, still trying to figure out what I wanted to use, and this wasn't really optimal)
That BB Damage. I could be one shotting things with it.
The targetting could've been a lot cleaner in this video, but very nice job. KB&M lends itself to assassin because of precise targetting--even though coincidentally I was using controller as well in my video.
Yeah you didn't know how to use FPB to its fullest potential. I use it out to string out enemies and isolate them. The same can be done to force them to line up for your FA.

SCA is optimal for that skill setup due to HB's high cooldowns and no other from of CD reduction, maximizing additional FA as well. It'd take even longer without the SCA.
That BB Damage.
Could be done without a Bosun's Blade. Flank Attack has a short cooldown, hit multiple enemies, gives Stealth that is superior to the actual ability "Stealth"... nope, this run showcases Flank Attack more than Bosun's Blade.

How many times did I use Flank Attack? How many missed? How many hit the wrong enemy? Flank Attack can be unrelyable if your range is wrong or if you aren't facing perfectly toward your target. I didn't have either of those issues, so what are you finding fault with?

I know how to use Fall Back Plan, it just doesn't lend itself well to how I used Flank Attack (large trains or groups), so it was useless. Trying to use Fall Back Plan to move enemies into nice clean little trains would be such a huge waste of time an effort, because they automatically do it for you with absolutely no effort. As I said, I was just testing out what abilities I wanted to use, but Flank Attack is so good that I completed on literally my first test.

Nice technique, man. That was fun to watch. You don't use fallback plan often, but when you do, it's always clutch.
those 2-hours long solo, are we starting a new trend here??
Well, if "somebody" were to grant us the option of hot-keying parry/evade on top of the mapped abilities, perhaps...just maybe it could be done faster.
I know some of you are on console, but just throwing that out there ![]()

Here ya go:
I equipped a Spike Trap ring and an Elemental Mine ring before the match. Figured they'd come in handy. Felt like my Spike Trap wasn't doing much damage, could have been imagining things or not taking into account my lack of armor penetration.
I can't decide on the best set of abilities for assassin on HB. Flank attack with bosun's is too useful especially if you screw up but should you use Deathblow? What do you replace? Deathblow really stretches your point investment and forces you to replace either twin fangs, hidden blades, flank attack, or even stealth itself.
