play a Reaver with Rampage, etc. There are plenty of strategies that don't rely on camping.
Lego has WF for invincibility too. Used to be soo much more OP though (until the nerf)
I bet bolters were the real reason for WF nerf...
Just imagine how many WF/CS/livid you can spam when you face tank a bolter squad if wasn't for that stupid/necessary nerf.
I always thought you guys were insane for not liking chilled defense.
It's just all around great.
It's only great if it would proc...
Just tried Avvar again and nope chilled defence still won't proc on RT for me. ![]()
Yeah, that ain't happening without a metric ton of promotions (on Perilous or above). Not with the "anti-camping" tactics you're discussing.
Reaver is durable if you can get into melee range, but yeah with a map full of bolters you might well be dead before then.
BUT! If you have Bear Mauls the Wolves just turn your back towards the bolters and you will be fine. Although I must admit I rarely take Bear Mauls the Wolves on Reaver because it's too far down the assault tree. To be fair, why would you want to face tank bolters using Reaver anyways?
Snakebite is right, if you have a support class in your team then it would be very easy. Bard, Saarebas, Lego, etc...

Rather than closing the distance over open ground, let the Bolters come to you while hiding behind a wall. Alternatively, use cover while advancing on the Bolters. On FC Zone 4, this means using the relatively covered right side of the map to advance, or simply staying in the font room for the duration of the Zone (or at least until Bolters are cleared).
Turning your back on a Bolter remains a non-strategy.
Play assassin.
Tried this today with a level 8 assassin in a perilous pug in Ferelden Castle. Got the Bosun's blade from the challenge reward chest a few days ago and wanted to try it out. Everything was going pretty much solidly on zone 4, the rest of the group was camping in the usual room, and I was taking down the bolters and hiding in stealth to wait for cooldowns.
Then came the "oh ****"-moment. I find myself in the middle of the map with stealth and every other ability on cooldown (didn't have I Was Never Here at level 8). Run to the nearest cover, praying that none of the approaching horde of bolters decide to target me. Made it to the spot next to the treasure room door on zone 4 until I realise what a lousy spot that is to hide. Stealth is still cooling down, so I just cross my fingers and hope that Easy to Miss does its job and the bolters pass by without giving me much thought.
Luckily enough, the bolters go past me without even spitting in my direction. "Wait, what's that weird humming sound effect..? Oh crap, where's that assassin, where's that assassin!?" **ZAP** -- Twin Fangs in my back and more than half of my health is gone. As I try to figure out how I'm gonna deal with that assassin dancing around me while I have Bosun's blade equipped, stealth on cooldown and bolters no more than 5 meters away, the humming continues. **ZAP** -- Twin Fangs strike again as another assassin comes from stealth and I eat the dirt. Problem solved, kinda...? While I crawl on the ground, bolters annihilate the rest of the group.
tl;dr: I duely recommend you either take I Was Never Here or play a lot better than I did.
Great story. Good job surviving as long as you did.

Rock Armor, also for Z4 FC you want to jump off the bridge / edge of the map and reset to the font room, always move and always juke, so you don't become an easy target for Dagger rogues. Try to keep cover.

flank attack is useful with bosun's blade, especially the upgrade.

With flank attack upgrade I don't even need stealth or I was never there.
But you still take them, right? Please tell me you do.

Stealth is still on the 4 since it is free but I think I take I was never here last since it is so far down the tree. My assassin rarely uses Steath though. I don't roll in NM... just perilous and below. I think I have flank attack, deathblow, hidden blade and stealth. I use stealth usually when I am reviving someone and was noticed so I could go into stealth as soon as the green circle finsihed spinning.
