Both genders where present, along with talking, and hardly anyone was confused. So what will your next excuse be Bioware?

Its starting already! I was thinking atleast for Fallout 4 to release before the threads started popping up. Decent trailer though, and the female SS, mmmm.

Hell I;'ve been criticizing Bethesda with FO4 and even I'm happy they put both genders into the trailer, and female SS is very curvy. She also has better animation then femshep, do oyu want to be by Bethesda in animation Bioware?

It's a very good question. Biowares excuse does not work anymore, so I wonder what their next excuse is.

If House is praising Bethesda for something, you can be sure they probably did something right.

That said, I really like how they did that trailer and how the narrator switched between the two VAs from line to line.

I thought the new DAI trailers were more female inclusive than they've ever been.

Should've been DA2 though. That's the only female character I care about.

It also ended with an excellent view.

I do like the way Bethesda did the trailer, but it's not like Bioware is making excuses anymore since they're already starting on this path (Trespasser trailer for example)

Hopefully Bioware gets the female animations like the female SS :P

I'm not talking about trailers just being female, or trailers just being male. Combine them like FO4s launch trailer did. Biowares excuse for that was it would confuse people. That's clearly not true anymore so they have no reason not to do that instead of just having one gender hog trailers.

Trespasser was female only, it was not a combine trailer.I don't care for one gender for trailers. FO4 did something many fans asked Bioware and got the "it would confuse people" excuse.

They were. Alix Wilton Regan did voiceover for both. Or they used her version of the lines for both.

ME3 also had 2 femshep trailers iirc.

But I really don't see House's point since Bioware isn't going to be releasing big launch trailers of anything until this time next year.

There was one that switched up like that. But it didn't have VO.

Anyways, I'll play fem in this just for Courtenay Taylor.

....but the curves help. :P

I think the point is that the trailer had both male and female protagonists in it. It wasn't a "female" trailer, it was the one and only launch trailer for the game.

and most people aren't confused by it(which was one of the argument against such things before), probably because most of us watching the launch trailer are already aware that the game has a customizable protagonist, including gender.

First of all, yes. Second, they could market Fallout 4 with CGI penguins humping in the desert and it would sell like hotcakes. Mass Effect doesn't have that luxury. Fallout is in the top tier of game franchises. Mass Effect can't even dream of reaching those heights. Especially not when the next installment is a soft reboot of the series that's following one of the most controversial and mocked games ever.

I'm glad that Bethesda are using voiced protags, and that they're (allegedly) giving more attention to story and character relationships than ever before.

It'd be quite ironic if Fallout 4 turns out to have a better story than Inquisition, whilst BioWare have been trying so hard to imitate Bethesda of old. lol

Probably something about resources, time, xanadu  or etc.
