GPR or ammo/reload bug?

Hi, all:

I was just in a pretty good PC Gold PUG as a Krogan Soldier, rocking a Geth Pulse Rifle V with Incendiary Ammo II. Mooks were staggered, Brutes & Banshees were danced around & Carnaged, Mr. Krogan laughed like a murderous sociopath; life was good.

But somewhere around Wave 5, I ran out of ammo nowhere near an ammo dump, hit 8 to load a Thermal Clip pack, and nothing happened. I hit it again; nothing. Ran up to an ammo dump, heard the reassuring "clack", but alas, no more Ammo for darth_elm0. WTF?

By throwing lots of Carnage and grenades, running around like a crazed, ammo-less thing, and leaning heavily on the excellent playing of (and revives from) HaroldChoi, I managed to extract without feeling like too much of a leech. But have any of you experienced this before? Is it a GPR thing? I haven't found anything in the BSN archives to that effect.

I can't remember the last time I played with the Water Droplet Rifle, so I can't say for sure, but it sounds like a one-off to me.

Probably it was just the game's way of getting back at you for using the GPR on a krogan.

I know it's wrong, but it felt so right! :blush: (Until it stopped working.) Sort of like dressing The Terminator in something lacy and billowy: "Ja, go ahead and laugh: with your last breath!" Besides, it fires an awful lot of water droplets...

So, a buddy just told me this is a known glitch, and it affects all weapons, and is more likely to occur off host. Dying and being revived supposedly helps, but not every time (heaven knows I died plenty in that game, with no good result). Good times!

Next time maybe I'll add a sidearm, though the faster recharge on Carnage sure saved my bacon. (Always with the tradeoffs!)

Yeah on occasion you'll get issues, esp off host. Random power stops working, can't reload, can't pick up ammo, can't run, something. Dying usually does reset it, but not always, as you've experienced. Hopefully it doesn't come back again

Also, remember that you can't spell "krogan Soldier" without "Graal"

Stupid toaster software in the rifle decided to get uppity and rebel against its master. It happens when you're dealing with geth.

Yeah, crazy stuff happens off-host. I had one game where I couldn't pick up any ammo, couldn't pull out a missile, and couldn't hit anything with any projectile powers for half a wave (that I was clutching because everyone else decided not to use any medigel). On the bright side, I also couldn't be damaged by anything other than melee and Pyros. So I just killed stuff until I ran out of ammo, ran up to a Pyro and let him cook me, and used a Medi-Gel. Everything went back to normal Geth BS after that.
