Is there a way to access the CC and alter the companions's appearance? I'd make radical changes to Dorian and I'd prettify Cole.

Yes and no. There are mods that remove Dorian's mustache or muss his hair a bit, but I can't think of any that radically alter his appearance. There's one mod that gives Cole a scraggly beard, but that's the only one I can think of for him. As far as I know you can't completely replace faces as you could in DAO and DA2.
