I'm making an observation about your conduct and pointing out your reaction to anyone poking a hole in your ideas.

If you don't want people to be point out your refusal to actually consider the evidence instead of repeating your ideas over and over, don't post on a public forum. I'm not attacking you, I'm not calling you stupid, I'm pointing out a flaw the way you're engaging in this discussion.

If you want to argue your ideas, you need to address the criticism and evidence that others level against it. You've done none of those things.

No, you take it personally, you attack me as a person by your statement. I don't care you are religious, young or old, i don't care about you, but you keep attack me as person and taking whatever i wrote personally. Now i am attacking your personality.

Why you want to take it personal?

i don't care if anyone want to agree with me or not, i don't care, why would i care anyone opinion, i am free to give my opinions and i am free to repeat it as much as i like

Unless it is you who want me to agree with you....and if that so, what is the point of having discussion if i always have to agree with everyone in the forum?

I haven't been attacking you, nor have I taken anything you've said personally. You're the one getting worked up every time someone pokes a hole in your argument.

You're free to give your opinions, but by posting them in a public forum we are just as free to criticize them and your premise. If you want to convince anyone, you actually have to engage in dialogue and argue with evidence and logic. You have a right to repeat yourself, but don't expect it to be any more compelling the tenth time if you don't back it up.

Now it is not about anything i wrote, you and your bandwagon just want to attack me.

OT but that sounds really interesting. Did slaves in the American South meld multiple religions like those in the Caribbean brought over some West African traditions?

Yes and no. Slave populations in the Caribbean were maintained largely by a constant stream of new slaves from Africa.  But plantations in what would become the US weren't nearly as profitable as the sugar plantations in the Caribbean, so they required fewer slaves and could afford fewer (slaves were very expensive).  For various reasons, slave populations in the US were better able to reproduce themselves than their Caribbean counterparts.  Possibly because they tended to be treated better owing to the difficulty in replacing them.  By the time large scale conversion to Christianity occurred (In the late 18th and early 19th century) the vast majority of slaves in the US had been born there.

West African traditions and sensibilities didn't vanish, but they didn't survive in any coherent form either.  When the evangelical missionaries came around though, the slaves tended to apply those sensibilities in their understanding of Christianity.  They gave great weight to visions, trances, and ecstatic sensations; prayers tended to come in the form of singing and stomping; singing was incredibly important.  They also tended to conflate Moses and Jesus, for reasons that seem obvious.  Their expectations of Christianity were worldly rather than anticipating the next life.  It was far removed from the quiet contemplation most of their masters expected of Christianity, but these traditions actually fed back into and influenced southern white Christianity as well.  I've been reading one source of a slave preacher that had a master (Not his) bring his whole family to attend services.

For starters you have said that any person, group of people, or religions that don't accept religion and science being opposing forces aren't truly devout, which is insulting those people. You have also said that religions are purely political machinations, which is attacking groups and religions.

Both are against the Site Rules on this forum.

Which person i give a personal attack?

Nobody has contested your right to give your opinion.

You just shouldn't be so shocked and offended when people disagree with you.  The moment you put your opinion out in public, you open it up for people to take a swing at it.  Don't be shocked when they do.  If you have no intention of actually discussing your opinion and don't care what anyone says, why bother posting it?

Which person i give a personal attack?

When you posted this:

How many times i want to repeat myself? Magic/religion and science are opposing values, they will never add up with each other, like cats and rats, either cats eat rats or rats overrun cats, cats and rats don't breed catrats...if ever catrats exist, they are abominations should be put on the torch and shun among the society, they should be fonged and stoned

You made a comparison where you specifically state that anyone who accepts both religion and science are abominations that should be shunned from society and even killed by being stoned or burned alive. That's far worse than personal attacks. That's hate speech.

Me, for one.  You repeatedly claimed I and others were in denial because we didn't accept your ideas, along with anyone that didn't see religion and science as incompatible.

Because you are in denial, stating the obvious is not a personal attack.

Again WHICH PERSON I GIVE A PERSONAL ATTACK?

Everyone who accepts both religion and science as not opposing forces.

From the Site Rules:

  • Personal attacks: Do not insult, degrade or criticize any person or group of people. Personal attacks are hurtful and destroy useful discussion. Examples of personal attacks include calling someone stupid, saying "you suck," "I wish you would die," or "you should be fired."
  • Attacks on groups: Attacking groups of people, companies, or user locations, including, but not limited to, home countries, is prohibited.
  • Intolerance/Hate: Attacks specifically regarding race, politics, religion, or sexual orientation are grounds for immediate suspension or banning.

You have broken all of these.

Well, there you have.  Insulting someone is not a personal attack when its true.

In that case, all I've ever done is state the obvious too.

Which race?

Person: Any person who doesn't agree with you that science and religion are opposing forces.

Group: Any group that doesn't agree with you that science and religions are opposing forces.

Race: I never said race. Keep reading and you'll see religion is counted in that part.

I posted a post of yours where you specifically call people who don't fit your view abominations that should be exiled and/or killed.

I have provided evidence, whereas you have not.

I'm not trolling. You started this conversation.

I did. You are personally attacking everyone who doesn't agree with your view. You say so in the post of yours I brought up. You are just not accepting your own words as evidence.

Telling people you reported them is against Site Rules. Same as accusing people of trolling.

  • Accusing Others of Trolling: Calling someone a troll to incite someone or falsely accusing them of trolling can also be a form of trolling.
