Actually if I were pugging I tend to swap payback for CS or war cry, because I find often those lv20 pugs need a little bit of support to avoid fading lol.Shield bash
Walking fortress
Livid
Payback strike
The best build for non-Promotion lords and players who like to play public matches.
Let's talk Legos

Yeah,I did that too in my last build. As much I I like Cutting words,Cs is more favorable choice for me,'cos I usually go for Unyielding,so that's just one extra point. If I take CS and then go for CW,seems like I have to waste 1 point on war cry.

Shield bash
War Cry
Livid
Payback strike
I like counter strike but the skill points to get it and the cool down
Payback strike although it seems to be a low end skill it picks you up and w/o the PI thats a big deal
I just rarely block so shield wall was always a waste
I choose Bulwark and untouchable defense so I got the ability to absorb huge amounts of damage before my guard starts to fail
Bitter axe ( no hakken) and isanatol or Mage hunter I like isanatol but mage hunter makes so much more guard
and the Superb aggression amulet HOK ring
I pretty much got the whole room moving my direction and with a good dps character in my party they can attack at will as I usually can't even see Corbin

So right now I have
Shield Bash upgrade
TTD with upgrade
War Cry with upgrade
WF no upgrade
I rarely use WF at all. I used to use it when I am getting the heirloom or reviving someone so I don't get knock down in the middle of it. Now I have the PI amulet, I don't need at anymore. So I am thinking I should replace WF with Livid. I already have Livid anyway because I need to get to the 50% guard upgrade anyway. Or I could do payback strike.... hmmmm.....

swap it for wf and make sure to have the cooldown passive, depending on which weapon your using you will generate plenty of cooldown reductions and if you using the biter axe + isa shield you should be able to pretty much have a perma wf going on with the upgrade it gives you full guard in a few seconds and makes your char a lot more survivable on higher levels

I typed WT (thinking Walking Tower) but it was actually WF (Fortress) that I don't use at all. I use either Hakkon Honor with Knight 2nd or Bitter Axe with Isa so WF already proc all the time. With War Cry and TTD generating guard (both +50% passive), I don't think my guard was ever below 90%. I still kept it now since it is like a safety button just in case. But I can't help to think I should just replace it with an offensive ability. Or Livid with upgrade which is a half and half.

Shield Wall cancelling doesn't work well on console. I don't know why, but the exact opposite from what you said is true for us peasants.
This must be the difference then, attack cancelling is noticeably slower with shield wall on PS4, it's instantaneous with run cancelling. I always wondered why people recommended it, guess it is different on PC.

I've never used Counterstrike because it is all the way at the bottom of the second tree, while Bulwark and Trust the Steel are the very bottom of the first tree. It seems like, if you take Counterstrike, you'll be level 16-18 before you get your full build. So for nightmare, I've been going with:
Shield Bash - upgraded
Payback Strike - upgraded
Shield Wall
Walking Fortress - upgraded
I'm going to have to give one of the taunts a try though.

So did they fix the cooldown on Lunge and Slash, or can you use it with no cooldown from long enough range?

Nope, that has been changed. After the insta-cooldown was fixed, Flow of Battle didn't effect cooldown time for Lunge and Slash, but that has since been fixed. Its cooldwon now behaves like all the others.

I tried it out. It got fixed. Always has a cool down now if you hit something with it :/So did they fix the cooldown on Lunge and Slash, or can you use it with no cooldown from long enough range?

Hmmm. It still works ok I guess, but I don't know what I will take on my Lego for this next round of promotes. Might go PBS, LnS, SB and CS.
