Just got a second Hakkon dagger in the victory chest. But I already have one and would really rather have the bow and greatsword. Now I wonder if I should destroy the second dagger to up my odds. Is it still set to halve each time you get another piece?

as far as I know, drop rate is drop rate (regardless of provenance) and so the percentage would remain true (outside of bookchests which operate umder rules of their own). Or, put another way, let's say you got two daggers in book chests and were looking to dragons/game chests for the rests: the percentage drop rate would still account for those you already possess. My primitive understanding, fwiw.

chests and dragon drops are separate as far as I know. I would not salvage hakkons, unless it is your very first one.

Wah? So if you have a Hakkon you have less chance of finding another Hakkon? Am I getting this right?

From the NM Dragon, yes. Chests no. Unless the loot system has changed.

No! Never destroy your hakkon! RNG is RNG... Trust me, it will never, never, never pay off... What ever you do, just don't mess with RNG... I can assure you that many of us learned this lesson the hard way. ![]()

A man was caught bringing a bomb onto a plane.
When authority asked him why he was planning to blow up the plane,
he said, "I wasn't! I was afraid someone else would do it while I am on it!"
"Then why did you bring the bomb?"
"Well, the chance of having 2 bombs on the same plane is much much lower than having 1."
OP's post reminded me of the above joke I read a long time ago. ![]()
