Doing trial run with Assassin for practice. Still need testing and refining gear choices, but overall style is complete. Isolate targets across the map via luring (they have different walk speeds), stealth and kill individually. Z1 completed without issue. Z2 Shock mages get two shot by TF DB combo, if not the initial hit then after they fade as I can run / restealth as necessary. Z5 will be interesting once I start playing it seriously, but stealth is a major advantage once I am set in my gear and build choices.

Bring on the whiny flames. I know they're coming--Waaah its not the whole five zones, waaah-- they always come when I pull this stuff off when no one else does.. Don't bother, I don't see anyone else doing this ****. I was doing Templar, Reaver, and Katari solos before they were cool (i.e. everyone had high promotes / new gear).

I am not using PI or Bosun's here, as evidenced by me being staggered and not one shotting enemies (would be so much easier to one shot them too). Hakkon's plus Bloody Bargain. I'm considering 2x Hakkon's. That's still on the to do list for testing. I'm using 2x ability rings, and I'd be sacrificing that multiplier for the crit damage multiplier though... so its a wash right now.

Overall, the assassin style is developed: "Patience and skill win every battle!"

It just takes a long time because its HB... and I'm an Assassin without Bosun or PI

Bump.

And best of luck!  We have faith in you!

I guess you are going for the "World's slowest HB solo across all plateform" challenge then

LOL if you can do Assassin faster, please do. I am going for consistency, not absolute fastest run taking the most risks, and a million attempts + RNG shaving a few seconds off the previous run. . . because that's how speedrunners are.

Cool! I can't wait to see the whole thing. Maybe I will have to give it a shot eventually.

Do you not want to be flamed? Because this part of your post, along with your second one, look an awful lot like bait. Whatever. I'm not going to get on your case, seeing as you didn't even post it in the other thread, and even then, who cares? It's obviously not intended as a full submission. I like to see anyone, even you, post runs.

As for the jabs at cheesing RNG for fast runs... Who did that? When?

I'd be happy to see more videos from you. Preferably from classes that aren't easy, because then we'd have some variety.

As for the jabs at cheesing RNG for fast runs... Who did that? When?

Every speedrun ever, really not about you. You need good RNG for speedruns. For example, Dark Souls 2 requires one of the starting strategies requires the first mini-boss drop a specific weapon, but it is a RNG based drop, so it is not guaranteed (halbred). Players doing that speedrun with that strat will just restart until they get that RNG drop. If they're practicing / demonstrating for streams/donations, they'll load a save with the drop already occurred.

Borderlands 2 does the same thing for specific weapon drops. They farm weapons until specific things drop.

Over the course of a speedrun, you still require skill to pull stuff off, but you can't guarantee the RNG. What makes it interesting is how the player deals with both boons and challenges over the course of RNG. You can still waste good RNG with bad gameplay and vice versa, but ultimately the best results come from good RNG AND gameplay.

As for flames (and non-believers), let me quote what happened from some of the previous threads

Templar Solo:

no, just no.

Stevie wonder could have solo'd perilous with that gear and promotions.

I love your builds and posts but lets get real here=P

Avvar Demonstration:

"Inb4, with your stats... meh, it doesn't really require skill.

You could aswell just spam random things all the time."

"Post a screenshot of your stats please when posting demonstrations as this is not an accurate representation of 99% of players stat level."

Katari Perilous Demonstration (this was before Katari was buffed, or Dragon items, etc -- everyone thought Katari sucked except me and key other early adopters)

"You got pocket barrier/HoK ring(s?)/Best weapon in game/ lots of team cc / 2 of your 4 skills slots using PURE defensive moves. Spending at least 1/2 your time circling around enemy or hiding LOS.

And you still managed to die. (I stopped watching halfway)"

"

I also suspect you wouldn't be "roflstomp"ing as much without your hard earned gear and promotions. All else being equal, do you honestly think Katari (and to a lesser extent, Reaver now) is on par with the other classes?":

expecting beginner/intermediate players to achieve similar levels of "roflstomp" and "mythical fun" as someone with your stats and loadout by following your methodology would be unreasonable, especially since most people's sense of "fun" is in some way tied to how successful they are.

"In other words: The average player would have been left clueless why your tips don't work out if you hadn't mentioned this negligible extra bit."

"Nice,  but show me a game with you not using the sulevin blade and with an assassin, an alchemist and an AW or one of the archers."

Rofl at all these noob comments now, right?

There's always people that say, 'oh but you suck' because we can't do it / we're noobs and think our old stubborn ways are better (but really they suck). I'm fairly certain BW made some balance changes with some of the more popular threads in mind though.

That sounds more like the strat for Dark Souls 1, with the Black Night in Darkroot Basin. Still, you have a point.

The Heartbreaker Solo thread isn't about speedruns, at least not to me it isn't. Just the fact that people can clear Heartbreaker solo is impressive, even more so with classes that require skill and precision. If someone can do it fast... Well, that's just icing on the cake.

I would wonder what sort of time to kill difference you would have with the double hakkon vs bloody bargain. An interesting watch for sure. I would imagine a full run taking quite some time. That said my 2 first ME platinum solos were 66 and 82 minutes.
